What is happening these days represent the dark days the architects of our independence foresaw and attempted to remedy. Let our youthful leaders know that in those days our politicians were formally schooled in leadership rights and responsibilities. The line between being a leader and being a ruler are not ambiguous. The leader leads according to the will of the led. The ruler leads according to his will for the led. Choose to be a leader rather than a ruler and events like the recent police brutalization of citizens expressing their will, may be avoided. The colonialists were rulers because they did not live among us, and secondly they operated on the principle that we were unenlightened savages who did not know what was good for us. We needed to be taught and cultured by them, they opined, hence their will must necessarily be imposed on us. They set up the police and oriented it to enforce this mission. But now thankfully we are in charge of our own affairs, so police change your mentality.

was the police service serving the NPP in 2007 when ACP Akrofi led NPP thugs to beat up John Mahama, Atta Mills and those demonstrating against the corrupt Kuffuor administration? Recall ACO Akrofi's infamous chant of "charrrrrg", commanding the police to charge on the demonstrators? Wasn't ACP Akrofi rewarded by the NPP for the job well done by making him the NADMO chairman? Foolish fools, the shoe is on the other foot today so you're crying; you can cry rivers, IDIOTS.
