It is time you "Christians" started to take responsibility for your own actions.
You are not the judge, you are not the prison warders of hell, you are not here to impose Gods wrath.
You are here to find your path to God.
Your path to God is not through obsessing about the genitalia of others, your path to God is not through obsessing over what others get up to with their genitalia, your path to God is not through condemning the love between two people.
If you think your path to God is by way of Judging gays as "intrinsically oriented to evil", or "disordered", then I suggest you re-read the scriptures.
Judge not lest ye be judged.
Do unto others as you would have others do to you.
Love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Condemning, judging, imprisoning gays is not your path.

We had our own morals before the bible came to our shores. There is nowhere in my "cherished" Akan custom and traditions where men married men. I do not need a priest to tell me that.I do not see it as some form of advancement for the human race. I went to sec school [boarding] in the 70"s.I never ever heard or saw a single act of a male student "buggering" another one. Ghanaians do not really care what two adult guys do behind closed doors but some of us despise the whole "cooked up" nonsense of human rights. What is all this "Gay Pride" nonsense?. Do we have to advertise ourselves as hetrosexuals to prove who we are? The UN charter does not say "let a man marry a man or a woman marry a woman as a fundamental human right". Give us a break with all the biblical and koranic quotes! Our own moral practices does not support that and we want to stick to that!

Dan, this is a very great attempt to explain the Catholic Church's teachings on the vexed subject of homosexuality.
I guess you're still a good Catholic, from your Catholic secondary school days several decades ago.

Anybody who has cared to read your piece carefully will understand you as saying the Church condemns the practice of homosexuality on Biblical grounds but does not condemn the human beings who are homosexuals.
This is a difficult topic to write on and you tried to limit yourself by not imposing yourself on the topic. But therein lies the catch. If you had attempted doing that, you would have been forced to pronounce judgment on Paul's words, and, by extension, the whole Biblical project.
The current pope has made some very kind statements about homosexuals since he assumed the pontificate. I would love to read your PERSONAL comments on that.
A nice read, Dan, even if I don't personally agree with the church's position on the subject. But that is because I no longer agree on the church's positions on a wide variety of things.

Does it improve the homosexual's quality of life when you present them as a threat that deserves 3yrs in jail?
