Christopher, I think you got it wrong. Football is played on the field by players. The quality of players is at stake here. Before a season ends, about a quater of the players who started had been sold. Herbert was successful because he was able to keep most of these players for a longer time. Also football is a purely business and in a limited business you need the board of directors and the management and kotoko is not an exception. I think we all talk too much. Looking at what is happening to chealsea and A.c millan. If it were to be in Ghana a whole talks who have been drawn in to it. There is always ups and downs . When they win we don't see fault. Isn't it just last season they won two cups.

My brother, ask again. We seem to talk too much. As bad as Kotoko played this season and by Kotoko standard, they played bad but if not losing six boardroom points, Kotoko would have placed second with 48 points behind only Ashgold with 52 points. This shows how bad all these other teams in Ghana are.
As I said sometime ago, Kotoko is a religion with worshippers and not supporters and we get our inspiration from Manhyia.
The club I agree needs professionals to run it without decoupling it from its spiritual Manhyia base.

You can't compare football administration in Ghana to that of England. Can you tell any of us how the Buckingham Palace is interfering in the football administration of any club in England? It's only in Africa where people who have no basic training in a particular field think they have the right to be the company's boss because of their position on the social ladder. There are very rich men who for lack of personal expertise have to hire very competent professionals to run their businesses. When are we going to wake up from slumber and become part of the global economy? Isolating ourselves because of incompetency and obstinacy is never going to help us.

It's going to take another hundred years for manhia to amend the traditional constitution since the entire Asante Kingdom have adopted the art and history of traditional ways of doing things. But in this millennium things have changed and the kingdom have to change accordingly but the emblem and the motto of Asante kotoko will remain for ever. " ukum apem a apem beba" But Otumfour has adopted too much power he's like Idi Amin or Mauma Gaddafi and since football is a different faculty from chieftaincy affairs you can not mingle the two together hence power have to be decentralized at manhia before things will go back to normal for Asante kotoko. The owner of Chelsea is from Russia.

There's no question about that. What does Manhyia know about football administration? We've got to the point where the administration of football has become very competitive and cash intensive and requires very competent and pragmatic administrators who would not need to listen to any unprofessional advice from any quarters. It's time like you say, to de-couple Asante Kotoko from the incompetence at Manhyia Palace. After all this is no 1960s.

Manhyia did Kotoko a lot of diservice when they first won the African cup some plenty years ago. The then captain was Ibrahim Sunday who was poised to present the trophy to the then Otumfuo when some nonsense was announced that a pepeni cannot appear in front of their king. The captainship was handed over to Yaw Sam, before the presentation could be made. A lot of pepefuo vowed never to play for Kotoko again. When Manhyia heard of this, they quickly sent out a delegation to plead with the pepefuo to change their minds, AND THEY DID !!!!!!!
