I would like to point out, though, that this Professor seems to own a niche of his own that he fills with some of the most despicable things we normally would not expect around a person of his Academic prowess.
Lewdness for the sheer fun of it, not for any Academic discourse that enhances the Sociology we need to learn about folks, seems to be his fetish. He takes it to the brink of porno. This isn't the first time he has publicly exhibited a high interest in such a topic.
He, not quite long ago, had the audacity and affront to insultingly describe former President Kufuor's genitalia and presumed sexual activities with his wife in such a horribly pervert manner, inappropriate for a forum like this kind, and unwarranted by the issue he had chosen to discuss in our Political discourse.
It is very sad, but it appears Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. thinks presenting himself in this way informs the Public he could briskly mix with the street thugs and emerge unscathed. He seems to be trying hard to impress the Public that he is some tough guy who could mix it up with the roughest folks in the hood.
But I don't think that is what Ghanaians expect of their Professors who they wish would be role models for their young and impart some constructive lesson to them.
Religious piety aside, we still have societal expectations that most deem decent, and would rather have our leaders live by. So, this is not a matter of relative morality, or who has the right to criticize another's indecent behavior.
It is recognizing a certain standard of decency that most of us believe preserves high level of dignity to our Society and Nation. And I am sad to note that the Professor doesn't seem to care about such scruples at all.
