I.O.B, the western human rights activists only speak or fight for criminals or those who commit abominable acts and deserve this kind of treatment. For example if these girls were treated like this for being lesbians, these so called human rights groups would be at the throat of the government for doing nothing. But since these girls are entirely innocent, human rights groups don't give monkeys(a damn) about their predicament.

Ghanains we have so many issues to attend to rather than this Cameroon cultural practice. Sorry

It was told that the practice used to be part of Ghanaian tradtitional practice in some parts ot the country. How it got eradicated is a different story.

I blame the big head authoritarian president Paul Biya for all these to go on in Cameroon, one party state government has no opposition to vote on national issues very sad indeed.

Witch hunter, your comment is typical of the usual stupidity of the average Ghanaian. Was it the president who introduced the culture? Instead of contributing to end this criminal and barbaric culture, u are here blaming someone. A lot of these practices are hidden. The girls went thru this torture but are able to talk about it decades after their ordeals.
By publishing it here is a way of drawing attention to it for the right ppl to take it up.

I am a man and find this disgusting. Why should women always have to compromise themselves in the name of culture because of men. Shameful and must stop.
