A tree that is likely to pierce and blind you is not cut short but uprooted altogether, goes the old Ghanaian adage.
I do not understand why this self-conceited man could rabidly hate his fellow human-being whose crime is simply because S/he does not share the same viewpoint about an issue?
If Arthur Kennedy cannot put up with the leadership style of Nana Addo, nothing stops him from pulling out of the party to join the party he could singularly dictate to. He should be reminded that Nana Addo had about 95% endorsement at the party's rally to choose who leads the party and this number includes persons who could be more intelligent and sagacious than he, Kennedy, when political issues are put on board for discussion.

I have read a few of Arthur Kennedy's articles and listened to him on radio debating national affairs and he comes across as open minded and progressive.
He also comes across as some one who is principled and is not afraid to speak his mind especially in the face of the dictatorship of Akuffo and his cabal.
The truth of the matter is that if there is someone who is doing a great disservice to the npp and himself,it is Akuffo. He has saddled himself with Yes men who are perhaps afraid to tell him that he is wrong because they see him as infallible and too big to get it wrong.
Principled men like Arthur Kennedy have the conviction of their strength to confront these anomalies and therefore sometimes across as anti Akuffo. The truth of the matter is that he loves his party npp and is rather doing Akuffo a favour for directing him on the right path.
Why is he shunning the elected leadership of his party for these yes men.The struggle for the soul of the party is all the fault of Akufo and unless he brings some leadership skill and some humility to the table the rancour will continue and principled men like Arthur will not keep quiet. That will also mean a big good bye to his leadership ambition which will be of his own making.

Good piece. i thought I was the only one who knew about this disappointed politician. I remembered vividly well when the Commonwealth students brought this guy to deliver a speech at the then School of Administration Auditorium and that day has been his claim to his so called fame. He wasn't even in the SRC. Nobody knew of him until that day. You know the Commonwealth guys can easily make you popular and that's all. As a medical student he didn't even have the luxury for students' activities. He's a cheap man and that's all he is. If Nana hadn't made him his campaign manager, who would have known him. What was his showing when he tried to enter the real political world, abysmal failure. He was the one who voted for himself. He should know that no matter how hard he tries to undermine Nana he will not succeed. SHAME ON YOU. DISAPPOINTED POLITICIAN. You even owe you current fame to Nana. Keep insulting the hand that once fed you. SHAME ON YOU.

There are two "cancerous doctors" within the NPP family that need to be removed by major surgery, Arthur Kennedy and Nyaho-Tamakloe. Ironically they both owe the claims to fame/infamy by being victims of the coward rogue Jerry Rawlings!
Nyaho-Tamakloe, suspicious as his initial entry into the Danquah-Busia-Dombo Family was, is not grateful that he was accepted and actually made ambassador under Kuffuor. As my Fanti forebears would put it "Ehuruw ne tsir mu mmpa mbogya" or the English version, "A leopard can never change its spots," he has tied his aprons strings to his incompetent relation, John Mahama, and decided to derail everything that the NPP does.
Now the battle is truly joined. Let those two never know peace within the Danquah-Busia-Dombo family until they shut up for good or pack bag and baggage!

Is it not better to meet Kennedy with argument on the points he raises against Nana, so that those of us who are not NPPians but have a vote can be convinced who is right? Why must he be treated as an "enemy combatant"?
If you belong to the same party, does that mean that you should all see eye to eye on everything?
Sometimes, these NPP people forget that all Ghana is going to vote next year, not only members of NPP. Next year, it will be a run for the presidency of the nation, not a party's presidential candidacy. Kennedy makes a lot of sense to those of us who are not inclined to vote for Akufo-Addo. If you want us to change our minds, tell us the inadequacies in Kennedy's argument not his political genesis.

This is a fair comment on an opportunist who is blowing his top over something he knows little about: politics. I have some questions for Dr. Arthur Kennedy: The last time I remember he was a lecturer at the Cape Coast University Medical School. I presume he chose that path to enable him 'keep an eye' on political events in the NPP. Why did he decide to leave and perpetrate his venom from far away North (or is it South) Carolina? Patriotic gesture indeed. Some of us decided to leave the comforts that Uncle Sam could afford us - and they were plenty - to come and fight for good governance here at home. Arthur Kennedy should spare us his pedantic and toxic criticism and leave us alone here to fight our fight.

Dr Ohemeng, you started by saying the article is not a personal attack but that is exactly what you did in the end. Though I agree with you that, despite Dr Arthur Kennedy being honest with what he says about NPP on some occasions, his modus operandi leave much to be desired. His constant articles and attacks are inflaming the internal conflict or divisions within the party.
I am not sure treating him as an enemy combatant will either be a solution. The problem is that because of IT and the internet that has given some us a platform and the fact that Dr Arthur Kennedy is not in Ghana, it would be difficult to shut him up. If he could modify his approach by way of sending his messages to the party leadership instead of doing it in public, that will help because sometimes he makes some valid points.

MASSA KOFI, clearly, Dr Arthur Kennedy's behaviour and persistent public criticism of Nana Akufo-Addo is damaging, but has he got a point or speaking the awkward truth about Nana Akufo-Addo's leadership skills? I believe Nana Akufo-Addo has a responsibility as the leader of the NPP to unite rather than divide the party behind his leadership.
However, I'm sure the NPP like any other political party has internal mechanisms for constructive suggestions, grievances and useful criticisms of the party's management and leadership. If you observe Dr Arthur Kennedy carefully, he projects himself as someone with great passion for the good of NPP. However, his relentless and continual public criticism of Nana Akufo-Addo's leadership style and approach to the party's infighting rather than using the party internal mechanisms makes one wonder if his behaviour and criticism is born out of malicious spite, personal hatred, vindictiveness, and frustrated political ambition.

I set out by saying I'm discussing his political skills and his motive and his illusions of grandeur. That is exactly what I wrote about.
I'm not done yet. I'm in the next article going to assess him according to what he himself wrote in the past about his principles. In a third article, I plan to then examine the issues he has raised and whether Akufo Addo is the only 'guilty' party in what is happening.
Lastly, if you gave read his latest article, he called relatives of Akufo Addo thieves who stole from campaign resources. This a grave insult and anyone hurling such about requires no insulation from personal attacks. I promise not to go that way. That's not my style. I hope he will join in the intellectual discourse.

Talking about? How long have these petty squabbles and issues of mistrust persisted within the NPP? And are many of those in leadership positions now really interested in promoting unity, party cohesion and true internal democracy?
I can recall a Council of Elders member like Apenten Appiah Menka, openly challenging the authority of his fellow 'Kwabreman', Victor Owusu, and throwing his support to R.R Amponsah and others, who resented the fact that Victor, who had not tasted life in exile, had become Busia`s lieutenant and right hand man in the Ashanti region. Even when Victor became party leader, as the position was called then, did everybody rally behind him[Victor Owusu]?
Look, people can describe Art K and other dissenters by any fancy name[s] they want, and seek to run them out of the party, but that alone, in my view, is not going put an end the incessant internal bickering; far from it!

No-one should try to bring problems and confusion within the NPP, at a time majority of Ghanaians are yearning for the party to come to their rescue. Thus is the time all party members should unite and fight to achieve victory. Unfortunately some folks are rather capitalizing on the situation to destroy Nana Akufo-Addo as if doing so would yield great results for the party of themselves. That will NEVER work! Some people too are still bent on fanning divisions (Nana & Alan) or factions although everyone knows that that thing is already dead! Alan Kyeremateng joined Nana Akufo-Addo on his Arise and Build tour in Koforidua and other towns. It remains Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong's frustrations that is causing the party to be solved. All of the unnecessary write-ups by people seeking to destroy Nana will not succeed.Every progressive-minded Ghanaian except to see the party come strong in unity to contest and defeat the NDC in the 2016 elections
