There is no doubt that Mrs. Charlotte Osei has already failed in her duty as an independent EC boss. And what Mr. Kofi said in his article concerning her failure to investigate the oversized voters' register allegations when some details were revealed by Dr. Bwumia and confirmed by the NDC foot-soldiers cements that fact. The EC has miserably failed our democracy.
What happened at Talensi gave us an idea on how the NDC government and its security apparatus would react to any instance of electoral malpractice they commit in this country, but we expect the EC to maintain some degree of independence as an impartial referee between the political players. Ghanaians were expecting that Mrs. Charlotte and her EC would also investigate the allegations independently in order to

I have been wondering what NDC stands to lose should there be a new voters' register. The way the NDC has been working hard to maintain this register does not seem to make sense to me. My suspicion is that they orchestrated the fraud in the register. Why else should they be so scared of a new voters' register?

If for 16 years no Togolese have demanded naturalisation in Ghana then it simply means that Bawumia is wrong by concluding that there are Togolese in Ghana Voters Register. With this Bawumia's logic, the Togolese opposition parties can also claim that 76000 Ghanaians have infiltrated into their voters register. How do we know if they are real Ghanaians or Togolese? The NDC and as a matter of fact, anybody can respond to NPP's allegation becuse it's a public affair.NDC cannot sit down quietly and watch NPP bully the EC in their own way with lies.Who told you that Bawumia's evidence is credible? Then why is Bawumia not going to the Supreme Court again? If the Biometric Voters Register is bloated then it means the whole Biometric Voting System is not efficient.According to 2012 elections report,we can confidently say that the Biometric Verification Machines were not able to trace some finger prints of voters. The Biometric Voters Register is also not capable to detect underage and foreigners,so how efficient is the Biometric Voting System?I think it has too many technical and administrative challenges that have to be addressed.Thank you.

i am no one's pro, but i find 'self defending others at various times because of what i know either about the people concerned or the case at hand, and fairness requires, when one knows that lies are being spewed, or when one believes that another is acting in bad faith - consider talk about making the country ungovernable and talk about not being interested in certain pink sheets even though they have same defects as others one is interested in and has produced as exhibits - that one make bare the real intentions of the latter! it becomes even more compelling if huge costs are involved! if we grant that 70k+ names can be found duplicated in the Togolese and Gh electoral register, what makes the persons involved Togolese and not Ghanaians? talking about bad faith, what statistics supports the wholesale classification of all the 70K+ names as belonging to Togo rather than Gh? not too long ago district assembly elections were suspended nationwide by a court ruling, against submissions by the e.c. that, mong other things, expensive preparations had gone into it. the ruling was to enable one aspirant who had been disqualified to be heard b4 the election! if u ask me, on account of the costs involved, the judge committed an act of economic sabotage against Gh because that sole aspirant could have sought the postponement of the election in his constituency only, pending the determination of the petition he had filed, and the cost of electing representatives in one constituency would have been considerably less'n the additional required as a result of the postponement of the nationwide elections! some judges!
some say the cost of not preparing a new register is the mayhem that will follow if a candidate other than their favourite is declared the winner, and cite this as justification for a completely new register! certainly, this cost will be outa this world, but must we reject cleaning as an alternative to a completely new register and cause mayhem later? have u wondered the no of qualified prospective voters who will be disenfranchised by the preparation of a new register, considering that the national insurance card is not acceptable as a national id for purposes of compilation of the voters register?
no, u don't have to be anyone's pro to defend them or to contribute to a debate that affects u! imagine the no of schools that can be built from monies saved by cleaning the register rather than preparing a new one, imagine. imagine the no of state institutions currently starved of funds that will continue to be starved because we chose to prepare a new register at a huge cost, rather than clean it, imagine! talking about costs, savings et al some ask whether it is n.d.c's money that will be used. in other words if it belongs to Gh it is not yours and can be wasted! God have mercy on mother Gh!
Dear Sakibu
The answer is "NO".
NPP is the PRO.
Cheers
