I totaly agree with this article. When I visitd Ghana in 2013 and became aware about the continuous wind along the shore lines, which could be a huge ressource for naturaly regenerated energy. Then maybe the commodities and mining industry could gain more of the profits inside the country by creating own products for the African and home market, not only selling the minerals and raw materials abroad were then the big profits are made. The value chain need to be established inside the country that would increase jobs and services arround this industries and could deliver impulses for a cluster of new business, services and siences. I hope the diaspora of Ghanians would invest more in these kinds of business than in abandoned houses and little tourism. Maybe national or private bonds and fonds need to be founded to collect money for such projects. With the present inflation maybe not the best environment, but without action it will not getting better soon. The youth also need perspectives inside their homeland. Too many fit and well educated are leaving the continent and the Republic, this blood and brain train need to be stopped. I'm crossing all my fingers and my toes too, that Ghana will be able to find the way back to a self confident progress, like the visions were of it's Founder and famous leader Nkrumah. In this period of time I miss such characters, not only in Africa but along the world. And you can't wait until someone appears with a magic stick, you have to gain strength, education and confidents among yourself and carry on to roll out an more indepentend strategy for a lasting recovery. Cheers from Europe, Germany!
