Somebody reminded me and said: "But then, why is nobody also talking about the $176 million airplane-purchasing heist involving then-Vice-President John Dramani Mahama? Come on, give me a break!"

No.Pr Mahama must rather thank the Gonja land and people for voting for him , paying him salaries and alowancws with their taxes and contributing more taxes to him to develop their road.
who deserves to be thank here?

It is the least Mahama could do for his fellow Gonjas, the north and Ghana as a whole.
Of what use would he be if he is the president of Ghana , after all one can not say he denied some people of development in order to construct this road.
For some Gonjas, John Mahama would forever be blamed for manipulating the Yagbonwura to reinstate the Buipe chief Abulai Jinapor. It was in clear contradiction of Gonja customs or tradition to reinstate a chief that had been duly disenskined . Today, the paramouncy is weak and central authority is gradually failing.
What is more, John Mahama's brothers have completely depleted the forest reserve in Gonjaland by felling the trees for export in China. As we speak, rains are not coming in Gonjaland and we all know what deforestation causes .
We pray that this road stands the rest of time as portions of it are already deteriorating .

What about Wa-Bolga, Gambaga Rd, Atebubu-Danso, Wa- Bolenga, Afram Plains, Wiawso-Asankragwa, Nsawam-Suhum, Nkawkaw'-Oda, Enchi-Dadieso etc etc. There Are more than 10, 000 km of roads which have to be done. Fufulso Sawla rd can't be special to warrant praises on the Foolish Dead Goat

Just look at the deplorable nature of roads in Western region and the resources that come from there. There is so much difficulty in transporting cocoa, timber, foodstuffs, etc. Do we have to wait until a Sefwi or Wassa becomes President before roads in Western regions are constructed like what Mahama has done in Gonjaland?
