1. Should doctors be employed by government? I say no, except non clinicians, in the bureaucracy and public Health.
2. Should the GMA be bargaining with government over conditions of service. I say no. The GMA is an Association which doctors MAY belong to. The bureaucrats, the private practitioners, hospital based practitioners etc.
3. Should the narrative be about conditions of SERVICE or EMPLOYMENT. I think it should be about EMPLOYMENT.
4. Who should be the employer? The government or the hospital. I say it is the hospital, which, in the Public Sector the government should be financing.
5.The hospital lays out the conditions or job description. The doctor accepts, or he moves on!
6. Job openings are advertised regularly, how regularly, depends on what the level one is on the totem pole. Aloo?
