Ofui, where were you and all your so-called First Class lawyers when Nana was fighting the military dictators in the law courts, endearing himself even to judges like Kpegah for his sheer mastery and oratory in litigation. In fact, Nana and Tsatsu did cases together, with Tsatsu as the junior counsel.
Yet because of politics the same Kpegah turns around and accuses Nana Addo of fraud. But we all know why Kpegah did what he did. As the most senior Supreme Court justice he felt entitled to become Cheif Justice but got looked over for the position when Nana Addo was the A-G in Kufuor's government. So when Nana Addo became presidential candidate, he saw an opportunity to pay him back: just find a useless technical point to smear him.
What is this useless technical point? Nana Addo was called to the bar both in Ghana and in the UK as William Akuffo Addo. He dropped William for Nana much later. This is something many educated Ghanaians do, often driven by a crisis of identity or racism experienced while studying abroad. A classic example is George Awoornor- Williams, who changed his name to Kofi Awoonor. Another was Joseph Hubster Yorke Jr, who changed his name to Kwesi Nduom.
Yet, Kpegah thought he could do some public damage by accusing Nana of impersonating an unknown cousin called William. When Kpegah was pushed by radio journalists to say where this cousin has been all this while, he claimed Nana Addo murdered him to bury the truth! This is the cock and bull story NDC fools are running around with?
What's even more laughable, before Kpegah made his outrageous accusations and refused to show up in court, forcing the judge to throw out the case for vexatious lack of merit, the same NDC had told Ghanaians that a certain William Akuffo Addo was dismissed from Oxford for smoking weed and that this William was Nana Akuffo Addo. They even got Tsatsu to confirm that indeed Nana Addo was at Oxford but left "unceremoniously", although Oxford denied that Nana Addo was dismissed.
So which one is true? That, as Kpegah claims, Nana was never called William but impersonated a cousin called William, stole his law certificate and murdered him to bury the secret? Or, that, as Tsatsu claims, Nana Addo was the young William Akuffo Addo who left Oxford "unceremoniously"? NDC is full nonsense keke
By the way, I left Legon only about a decade ago. I can't find my certificate. I've only recently gone for a testimonial. Does it seem strange that someone would who finished law school in the early 1970s may have lost his certificate and went for a testimonial, which is what happened in Nana's case. And for those who don't know, certificates are issued once. If you lose it, you only get a testimonial.
By the way, why don't we ask all the oldies, Tsatsu, Kufuor, Ahwoi, etc. to bring their certificates and see what happens. Nonsense keke! NDC give us good governance and stop the nonsense!
