The history of Brazil, if my fellow countrymen care to know and or read about, is worse than at anytime in Ghana. Yes we discriminate in Ghana on tribal preferences but Ghana has come a long way from all the ills we learned from under our colonial masters to an era where Ghanaians who run this nation hail from tribes that not long ago suffered like South African blacks under apartheid system.
Brazil, in all its happy go lucky sales to tourism and tourists of the world, continue to hold in place anyone with "black African" blood traces in bondage everywhere in Brazilian society. Not the Brazilian ambassador or the President of Brazil can provide records that show a 1 percent minority with black African blood anywhere in ruling governments or holding administrative positions at work. The creation of community for Ghanaian asylum seekers is an acronym for farvelas where Ghanaians will be isolated and tagged just like most Brazilian blacks live in communities called favelas; they will be pitted against other favelas communities for government handout, monitoring and menial jobs reserved for Brazil's underclass. Ghana cannot blame Brazil but itself; mismanagement will continue to reduce us all to become glorified slaves on our own land while pretending to be free.
