The only lesson to be learned by every living Ghanaian is never to trust and rely on the intellect of Ghana's educated and political class to save Ghana; they have no capacity for foresight and original thinking but good at copying what has been done by preferred masters. Over the years, Ghana and most mismanaged African nations who sought relief from the IMF have been dictated to and ordered around like children including devaluation of national currencies. If the Dr. Bawumia's of Africa who pretend to walk on water had the common sense and needed foresight as was on display by the Greek leadership, Ghana would have retained it's place on the global stage like South Korea and others.
We live in a country where people with classroom earned credentials love to play God in Ghana but just as ignorant as the uneducated and under educated class when on the world stage. No wonder we seek legal help from the UK and elsewhere even as hundreds of our very own nickel and dime lawyers prance around Ghana with their empty law certificate and practices.

One lesson Ghana could learn from Greece is government's over exuberance when times are good. Fattening pensions, lowering taxes, etc. is a setup for when times are not so good and exposes weaknesses in the economy.

One lesson Ghana could learn from Greece is government's over exuberance when times are good. Fattening pensions, lowering taxes, etc. is a setup for when times are not so good and exposes weaknesses in the economy.
Voices of reason especially organizations not connected to government need to influence government and public more. Politicians and government by its structure are not good at long term needs or extrapolating today's weaknesses into implementing plans today that make these weaknesses manageable in the future.
