While there's no denying humans have contributed negatively to the environment that has resulted in unpredictable climate changes Ghana and other third world nations must not allow powers that be to sacrifice our own respective industrial development programs and projects; we must not be halted or misdirected by those very developed and industrialized nations who bear the greater share of responsibilities for climate changes due to their development activities of past and present.
Lessons to be learned from the United Nation must not be lost on us all lest we perish as developing and under developed countries. The UN carved out the land Isreal currently occupies by trampling on those who occupied the land at the time; the UN is now impotent to stop what has been happening in the mess it gayfully established. The world's industrialized and developed nations did not get where they are through timidity, restrainst or a worry of the climate and despite what their own scientists tell us have developed cottage industries on both sides of the problem with legislators and industry that vehemently deny global warming thus continue their ways of making money and those industries and backers cashing in on ideas to minimize damage to the climate. Ghana must forge ahead with development without constraints; if the past is any indication for what to do then we can have our cake and eat it too just as developed nations continue to do. China continues its development through pollution by and for plants setup by interested companies and governments in the developed West and for China's interest. Chinese home grown companies scour the globe for opportunities without a care of environmental effects of what they do in those third world nations. We do not have a luxury in Africa to help save the planet at our expense We are globally disrespected and are pissed on because we fail to develop. The world's ongoing discriminatory patterns are mostly applied to people in under developed nations at meetings of world organizations or when our citizens migrate to developed nations looking for work; today Chinese citizens are free to obtain US and European visas at will just for the purpose of having babies in those countries because of their developed status while the same is not accorded to citizens from underdeveloped nations. Our limited pollution of the planet did not earn us any brownie points with developed nations.
