Ghana squad were also good, just they missed their chances and they have enoughm chances to have drawn the game.
I was watching women tournament between sweden and nigeria. Both teams were. Equally good base on their various style of play. Whiles the swedes sfrikers can think and shoot precisely, nigerian should ball without purpose or gauge, so they missed obvious opportunities, hence their loss.
you don't blame coaches for every loss.

I SAW THIS MALI TEAM AND WAS ...DAMN, THESE GUYS ARE GOOD. I SAW THEIR VERY FORST GAME AND I KNEW THESE GUYS WERE DANGEROUS. SENEGAL IM JUST SUPRISED THEYVE GOTTEN THIS FAR. THEY DIDNT LOOK IMPRESSIVE IN THEIR FIRST 2 GAMES. ANYWAY, MALI PLAYS LIKE THE GERMAN NATIONAL TEAM. THEY BUILD UP WITH 2/3 TOUCHES AND WHEN THEY GET TO THEIR OPPONENT FINAL 3RD/18 AREA. MALI ADOPTS 1 TOUCH. THIS IS MEANT TO DISPLACE AND CONFUSE OPPOSING DEFENDERS. I SAID THIS BUT BORBOR DIDNT LISTEN. BORBOR SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THE COUNTER.442. THE SATTELIT TEAM HAS NO BSTAR PLAYERS. THEY ARE ALL VERY YOUNG AND IMMATURE. THE MALI U20 TEAM HAS PLAYERS WHO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL TEAM. ADOPTING THE COUNTER WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR GH.FOR GH TO CAPITALISE ON THE MALIAN MISTAKES IN DEFENCE. PLUS, GH HAS FAST AND SKILLFUL ATTACKERS. PLAYING AN OPEN GAME WAS A VERY BAD STRATEGY. YOU START SMALL AND BUILD UP. YOU DONT PLAY OPEN SOCCER WHEN YOU PLAY A PROLIFIC TEAM. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE DOWN 2/3 GOALS? AREYOU THEN GOING TO PLAY THE COUNTER? BORBOR, PACK YOUR NUBEEZ LIKE JOE TANA AND COMOT

When did name spelling become part of Grammar? For your information, people chose different spellings for Sellas. The guy has raised some great points and you should rather focus on that.
He is being tactical.

And I also wish you can write another article about the Mali-Germany game which they won on penalties. I saw the German team and they were extremely good, very gifted in individual technique and skills (something it is Africans who are said to have) and having the well-known Teutonic strategic thinking. How they still could not beat the Malians (a bit ordinary - barely scraped through the group stage) in regulation time surprises me.
Any ideas why they could not, Andoh?

I wrote this on my fb page that anyone who watches Ghana football will always sleep watching it. There are NO creativity or technical in depth, always hesitant to keep the ball, irrational kick of the ball, no ball control and constantly ballooning the ball. These are what the local coaches teach them and it is all colonial style of play. We need to sponsor our local coaches to refresh their coaching or our future will be bleak. Watch the whole league, that's how they play.

Our group of players for this world cup were all immature Players tactically. Not like the Ayew era that won the cup. They did well against Argentina but the game tempo with Panama was the main trouble they slowed down psychologically whiles Mali coming from a third place in their group was very determined and psychologically higher taking into consideration that we also beat them in the African tournament.

African teams will never make any contribution to international soccer unless our local coaches rise to the ocassion by reading the game well and adapting to the dynamics of the game.
Thanks to foreign based professional players whose standards have risen considerably, what we need now are intelligent coaches who lack tactical knowledge to match the european coaches
Compare Kwesi Appiah's tactics with Grant's ane yoy will see why our teams fail to go far in tournaments.

When you are limited in the basic skills of ball controlling, passing and not ingenious enough, in relation to your opponent, you resort to long and high balls whether the coach tells you to use short passes or not.
On point number 2, where the coach got it wrong was to rest attobrah. attobrah was falling back and doing a lot of dirty work in midfield at the expense of attacking covering up for aboagyes limited ball winning abilities in midfield. on the day attobrah was absent so dornsah was left bare.
generally the 3 players who started for the first time were not up to the standard.
