I do not understand why these people are waiting to be told to step aside before they do so. If they have conscience, they would step down once their names became associated with such a crime. In civilised democracies, they will step down, and not aside, for police to carry out all requisite investigations before their names get mentioned in the press. If they love the party, they should move aside for their deputies to take over until they are completely exonerated. I also like to be pointed to the relevant part of the party constitution: Has the leader/flag-bearer not got authority to sack the Chairman and/or the Secretary when it is seen that these post holders are only fomenting chaos for the party?

In the U.S., they would have either stepped aside or resigned voluntarily. They have dug in but it appears they will be rendered irrelevant as events unfold.

Why are you gentlemen jumping the gun? Both men are yet to be legally and criminally linked to the murder of the NPP Regional Chairman, until then, hold your fire; they have every right to continue acting as leaders of the NPP afterall, they were duly elected to the positions they currently occupy. Usher them out and a big fratricidal conflagration within the party will be ignited and putting it out will take eons. And this comparison to the United States is silly. Theirs is a mature democracy with built in firewalls against acts such as what occurred in Bolga. We will get there, ultimately. These are our growing pains.
