We imagine "incarceration without trial as well as abolition of free speech" is not to limitless, just as "Free Speech" is not limitless.
More important, we imagine "incarceration without trial as well as abolition of free speech" is not what reformed traitors and subvertionists get, assuming they are truly reformed.
READ YOU: "...It is in the context of all this knowledge that Ghana’s first president, (Dr. Nkrumah) soon after independence, deemed it fit and proper to concentrate on the formal school system to boost the African personality and to merge the tribes under one great banner of nationhood..." WE SAY: It is all about the school, right?
But, we can't even tell from the context, not from your essay on the other side. There, you attempt to pull yet another Kludze, starting from the middle, and neglecting "the best".
Sophistry, we see!

Nkrumah supplied Togo with electricity from Akosombo when the entire Northern part of Ghana and villages across the length and breath of the country use to have their citizens travelled 100ths of miles looking for kerose( or kresee as my Kookoase people would say) to fuel their lanterns. Was that democracy too, Trokosi Kojo?

Yes, I knew there was something wrong with you SAS. You sleep with one eye open. That means you dont get enough sleep. Not enough sleep translates into not enough rest which also translates into a diminished thinking capacity. This is ultimately evident in your contributions on this platform.
And by the way, which kind of democracy is it that you want to maintain eternal vigilance over? Is it that sinful democracy of selfishness that enslaves, colonizes, exterminates, and greedily and shamefully exploits the resources of hundreds of millions of human beings all over the world for several hundreds of years whilst preventing them during that period from also practicing democracy, or is it the kind of democracy that abhors and fights against the democracy of the greedy and gives the enslaved, the colonized and the exploited people of the world, the freedom and the right to choose whatever system they may wish to practice?
Please Mr SAS, try and get enough sleep so that we can all more sensibly and independently brainstorm on the issues at hand.
You dont always have to take instructions from your paymasters, you can also begin to think of innovatively doing things for yourself in ways that are best suited for your specific purposes and not for the purposes and interests of others.
After you have had enough good sleep, make sure you wake up in good time. Its getting late in the day.

Just address the issues. Obviously you are not a discerning reader hence you are most likely a poor writer and I would hazard a compulsive "cut and paster" 'idiota' to boot. Let me clarify the instant matter for your edification. Master Kwarteng work bear all the indicators of coherence and personal style for starters. Critical cogent and clear analysis is reflected in the piece, which must emanate from a broad deep study of material relevant to the subject. This is blazing obvious throughout the piece and Owura Kwarteng's previous work. Your protest is out of order and defective. Court adjourned. NB "idiota" from the classic Greek :a layperson unversed unskilled used patronizingly, an ignorant citizen in modern parlance a political nitwit, mugwump or know nothing. The Persecution rest sine die.

The people of Ghana who under the delusional new found freedoms think there is anything close to absolute freedom or that there is a life in any community that is free of the dictates of others and or of community is just as ignorant today as they were at birth. Was it not the dictates of others that kept our fore parents in bondage/slavery until independence? Was it not Ghana's independence that inspired others to gain their own independence from their colonial masters? Do some of these "freed" nations with umbilical attachments to their then colonial masters not take orders whenever their respective masters come to save the day on matters of war and economics? Do we in modern day Ghana, under the delusion freedoms brought after the 1966 coup, not acquiesce to the orders of IMF, World Bank, China and all the entities that give us financial life line? We can pretend we are free from Nkrumah's dictates all our lives if it pleases us all but we're not free from dictates of others in society or the global community. We will never be free off the dictates of those with foresight and wisdom or those with money (earned through hard work or by foul means) to buy us for failing to use our God given mental faculties.

Once again, Francis Kwarteng has come through with a definitive answer to a pseudo-question from the Danquah-Busia-Dombo Confederates cohorts - whence originated African "One-Party-Rule"?
In this seminal essay, the history is laid bare for all who have "eyes" to read and see.
IMAGINE THIS: "....She concludes: “‘IF COERCION CAN BE EVALUATED IN TERMS OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF DEATH SENTENCES IMPOSED BY A GOVERNMENT ON ITS OPPONENTS, THE IVORY COAST IS PROBABLY THE HARSHEST COUNTRY IN AFRICA,’ WRITES ZOLBERG”...in...Aristide R. Zolberg...“Creating Political Order: The Party-States of West Africa”..."
WE SAY: Just imagine that, right next door to Ghana, in "Francophone" Ivory Coast!
ITEM: Ethiopia have seen the worst totalitarian dispensations compared to Ghana since the 1960s. But Ethiopia is still stronger, even after losing Eritrea. Go fly Ethiopian Airlines and come talk to us again.
And imagine, from Shashamane to Addis Ababa, the Rastafarians do not see a dictatorship in Haile Selassie, even as they cling to the Bible, and staunchly defend Pan-Africanism, singing songs of redemption and African I-Nity.
ITEM: This seminal essay will make its way into the www.GhanaHero.com/Visions pages. You want an earth-bound answer to the origins of dictatorship following the dictatorship of the colonial master - now got it here!
Great job, Francis Kwarteng.
Peace to all!
