Although the Constitution empower the President on advice of Council of State to appoint the Chairman of EC period. However given this Presidents lack of better judgement and decision making, concern Ghanains are worried he is not going to appoint a competent individual for such high Office. Judging from the manner and ways he appoint Ministers is a concern he does no care about integrity, experience and professional skills. John Mahama is useless if not guided by people of integrity. Ghanaians should not forget when Mahama if not a timely intervention of US Embassy would have burried late President Mills in the Flagstaff House the seat the Government.

The reason I am saying this, is that you must be able to recall if you were an objective observer of contemporary Ghanaian politics
For you to call Afari Djan a hero is reckless and almost borders on criminality. For Afari-Gyan to preside over the recent debacle of the District Council elections which wasted over GHC300M of money we don't have as a nation, and for you to call him a hero is as absurd and stupid (apologies for the word) as anything I have seen on this thred
Just as a reminder, I will quote for you the description given by my fellow Voltarian Supreme Court Justice Dotse
“My observation is that, Dr. Afari Gyan appeared to have concentrated his oversight responsibility at the top notch of the election administration, thereby abdicating his supervisory role at the grassroots or bottom, where most of the activities critical to the conduct of elections are performed. In this instance, he even appeared not to be conversant with some of the basic procedural steps and rules that are performed by his so-called temporary staff. So far as I am concerned, Dr. Afari Gyan has cut a very poor figure of himself, and the much acclaimed competent election administrator both nationally and internationally has evaporated into thin air once his portfolio has come under the close scrutiny of the Courts.”
