SELFISH POLITICIANS, GHANA FIRST.
It doesn't make sense by any stretch of imagination. The man who was appalled by the illegal payment of the money to WOYOME, MARTIN AMIDU WAS SACKED BY THE NDC. Those who caused the illegal payment to be made are today holding positions in the NDC. MARTIN AMIDU HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY FOUGHT FOR THE MONEY TO BE PAYED BACK TO THE STATE, I MEAN TO GHANA, BUT HE IS STILL SIDELINED. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE TO ANY SENSIBLE GHANAIAN.
It is a case of patriotic citizens out, bad citizen welcome.
We cannot allow this to go on beyond 2016.
FELLOW CITIZENS WHO CAN REASON JUST LIKE ME, LET'S VOTE THE DEAD GOAT AND HIS USELESS NDC OUT IN 2016.

AN ADVISE FROM A SENSIBLE GA WHO CAN READ THROUGH THE LINES.

From our vantage point, it is always gratifying to read essays from folks practically in the street, working, or playing. In all cases, we need to review and analyze the piece in context - from whence the author is coming from!
Analytically, we'd expect a difference between essays written by a political party operative, a student, a civil society rep, and a civil servant, even on the same subject.
To cut to the chase, in the US for instance, where the federal government runs better and civil servants are hired mostly according to one's qualification and are paid on the dime, an essay on members of congress by a civil servant would not even be considered objective on the face.
In other words, it is a good idea for civil servant to stay away from those types of public comments. And if they decide to do so regardless, they ought to do so as private individuals and omit informing readers about who pays their salary (or their affiliation with a particular government agency). This, you get, from training!
Therefore, an essay from a public employees assigned to Ghana's "Information Services Department", ought to have come with a caveat somewhere showing it is a personal opinion, unrelated to the opinions of the Information Services Department, or their sponsorship of same. As such, we want to believe that the review of the historical record by Mawutodzi Kodzo Abissath is probably as objective as we can get. However, the commendations for the Parliament on their "attitude, behavior and comportment", is a tad over-board for a civil servant. It fails the ethics test, at the minimum.
The other reason for our critiques this time relates to fact that Ghanaweb published an essay by Kofi Ali Abdul-Yelin about the same event, in the same place. (See Feature Article of Wednesday, 11 March 2015, Columnist: Abdul-Yelin, Kofi Ali, "Our honourable members of the Ghanaian parliament." While Kofi Ali Abdul-Yelin's report seems consistent with the description of "decorum" at the event, he nonetheless observed that several "...law makers were clearly breaking the laws and ethics of parliament...", by "flirting" and eating during the event.
So what are we supposed to assume?
That Mawutodzi Kodzo Abissath did not witness these aberrations, or that Mawutodzi Kodzo Abissath conveniently neglected to mention the aberrations for any number of reasons known to Mawutodzi Kodzo Abissath. Or that there was no basis for Kofi Ali Abdul-Yelin's report to the extent the "flirting" and "eating" did not actually occur on that date, at that place, during the State of Union event.
And so, as far as objectivity goes, we must hitch our horse to Kofi Ali Abdul-Yelin's account! Kofi Ali Abdul-Yelin is after all a member of a civil society organization, ECOWAS CITIZENS RIGHT ADVOCATES, outside the "control" of Parliament.

Ghana is sinking because of people like the writer. You are not requesting for a prize for parliamentarians for diligently scrutinizing government contracts so that the nation does not get duped by the executive,or evaluating various laws passed with magnifying glass to spot all potential problem areas before voting on it, but rather for the quietness in the house when the president was delivering the state of the nation address. You are not asking for the world to stand up for our parliamentarians for taking positions which serves the interest of the ordinary man on the street instead of the positions of their respective parties, you are not asking for praises for our MPS for standing firmly against the rape and abuse of our national resources and the rampant stealing from state coffers but you are rather praising MPs for being decorous to the president at the state of the nation address. This is the level of mediocrity that we as a people have sunk to. God please come and deliver us all and the congregation say in unison ameenoooooo.
