WE HAVE LIVED TOGETHER PEACEFULLY UNTIL THE USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED.
''We have been vice presidents for far too long, it is time you make ONE OF YOUR OWN President.'' John Mahama.
WHAT ARE THE REST OF US TO JOHN MAHAMA?
WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM.
THE USELESS NDC PARTY IS TURNING ONE TRIBE AGAINST ANOTHER
TURNING ONE RELIGION AGAINST ANOTHER
THERE WAS EVEN AN ATTEMPT BY ATTA MILLS TO poison football clubs with politics just for the SELFISH INTEREST of the USELESS NDC PARTY.
Everything that unites us as a peaceful nation is under attack by the USELESS NDC PARTY. Before they divide Ghana and leave us in shreds VOTE THE USELESS NDC PARTY OUT IN 2016.
We have lived peacefully without any TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS POLITICS before the USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED and their manifesto signed with blood. We don't need any division in Ghana. WE ARE INTER-MARRIED, AND WE ARE ONE PEOPLE. NDC IS DANGEROUS, VOTE THEM OUT IN 2016.
(GB3M3I KOME TOO DZI WO. GAM3I NY3KA NYI3AA AM3S33. NDC NFEE NY3 BULUU, NI AM3 NSHI NY3 Y3 OHIA MLI.)
An advice from a sensible GA who can read through the lines.

Joseph,
Thanks for writing a sane piece. Some who should know better have been making some porous arguments in support of the backward, uncivilised and intolerant forcing of non-Christian pupils and students to attend Christian services. I said no to that in Mawuli School way back in the mid-70s and has never looked back. So just like me, all non-Christians pupils and students should refuse to attend such services and dare the school authorities to punish them. Of course, they should refuse to accept any punishment intended for them, being wedding, suspension, dismissal or even caning, as was the case in Mawuli School then, and let the chips fall where they may.
So-called mission schools had been absorbed into the public school system since the early 1960s by the Nkrumah led CPP regime. Can those churches tell us how much they are spending on them annually?

I also started school at the T. I. Ahmadiyya Primary at Asafo NA in Kumase as a christian boy with other christian neighbourhood kids b´cos it was just a stone throw away from our homes. 1) School days started from Sundays till Thursdays,as such, there were no Sunday churches for us.
2)Prayers at the school morning devotions were recited in Arabic(The Muslim prayers from the Koran)and we were all forced to learn it in other to be able to join in the recitals.

THE SC MUST CONSIDER COMPELLING ARGUMENT ON BOTH SIDES VERY VERY CAREFULLY, IN A FORWARD THINKING MANNER, USING HISTORICAL EVIDENCE AS GUIDANCE BEFORE MAKING ANY RULING.
I WOULD SUGGEST THE "MISSION" SCHOOLS TAKE THEIR SCHOOLS BACK COMPLETELY FROM THE HANDS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND HENCE DO AS THEY WANT WITH THEIR PUPILS....
I DON'T CARE WHETHER IT IS GHANA, NIGERIA, USA OR EUROPE, ISLAMIC DEMANDS MUST BE HANDLED WITH KID GLOVES WITH POSTERITY IN MIND...

Mr. Charles Parker Allotey's morning devotion started this brouhaha of pitting Chrstians against Muslims in our mission schools.
Considering the fact that our young people are not doing well in school, I will use the mornings to catch up on schoolwork. The devotion can be scheduled as the last activity just before school is dismissed.

JOE, you have hit the nail right on the head. I think people will listen. The CBC said they do not take instruction from the individuals. Can you imagine someone calling the president an individual?

Rubbish! Could you just mind your own Charismatic church business, and leave other Christian leaders and institutions out here? Mind you, your argument is as sheepish as to state that when you visit me and i offer you my sofa to sit down, you should have your 'right' to stand/squart on it. Please, do inform yourself better than your poor thinking makes you feel about Christian schools unfairly treat muslim students. Visit the Christian schools and see what privileges and exemptions they enjoy. You're no better than the ungrateful, mischievous and disingenuous Muslims and students who are crying foul over what is not their right. In any case, Mission Schools do not grant human rights to people or group of persons.

This is a very nice piece. I really enjoy reading it. It makes a lot of sense. However, what I can not understand is the rational behind such directives as regards every Tom Dick and Harry attending morning devotions. I'm not too sure if the reasons behind it is to convert Muslims and none christians into christianity or it's just a show of where the power lies. If there is one particular thing that distinguish the christian faith from other religions, it is the way christians convert people into this religion. They do it with peace, persuation love and the teaching of the word. It has never been a forced and murderous conversions like others, as the whole world know of. It has never been killing or maiming because somebody don't want to be part of that particular sect. So, Why are the catholics forcing other faiths to do what is against their faith? We have come a long way and this is not the time for us to engage in this sort of things. The catholic Bishops should sit down and do the right thing. Like the writer has rightly said, the schools are Government assisted and nobody should be prevented from benefiting from them due to his or her religious faith.

Muslims always quote Ghana's Constitution to buttress their fight for freedom of worship but they forget that the same constitution also stipulates that education shall be free and compulsory for all children at school going age. Now all Kayayes are teenagers at school going age who work under the most dehumanizing conditions and it will interest Ghanaians to know that all Kayayes are Muslims from the north. Why are Muslims not putting pressure on Prez Mahama,a northerner, to bundle all of them into the classroom up north, since education is free up over there, instead of fighting for a right in mission schools.

What is not modest about the veil or hijab? If not that Christianity has been so slackened and made loose that the bible also in several places talks about the veil.Prominent among the verses is 1cor:11-16.If Mary were to dress like today's Christians, do u think the Angel would have approached her to give birth to Jesus? The veil is the symbol of modesty.
If a female nurse, banker, christian etc could wear a wig to the workplace and church, why not the veil. This is shed hypocrisy. What do the doctors and the anaesthesia put on their heads to perform surgery? What do cooks or chauffeurs put on their heads in the kitchen?I wonder why Christians do not follow the bible to the extreme. That is why Muslims are tagged as extremists.Because they go by the dictate of the Qur'an.
I think Ghanaian Christians are also fundamentalists, extremists and terrorists.Because they are also forcing people into Christianity. This is what Isis, boko haram etc are doing and they are named extremists.Telling Muslims to go out of their schools is an act of terrorism. When u deny someone education,is not equal to killing the fellow?Their open defiance of the president's speech is a mark of arrogance. It is unfortunate what the Catholic council did.
