People should begin to realize this about these two parties- NDC, NPP. Highlighting the incumbent's shortfalls only to repeat the same cluelessness in governance.

At least they think about the masses unlike the NPP who just loot state resources for themselves and their kin and kith.

Although I lean toward the NPP I've no reservations about any of the issues you have raised. The issues are very poignant and have been succinctly dealt with. It's my wish that no party ever comes to power again on a platter, silver or wooden. The politicians have never been subjected to tough questioning and the few feeble attempts ever made were bungled. We should begin to subject politicians to rigorous questioning and vote for them only when we are not just satisfied but impressed with their answers. Some of the questions are scrapping the irrelevant and moribund Council of State, freeing state institutions like the Police from executive control and making them truly independent, going at corruption no holds barred, uniting a divided nation, absentee ballot, depolarization of the political environment, equal rights, equal opportunity and equal justice, industrialization and national development agenda, local food production, increasing productivity and rewarding innovation, industry and hardwork and fighting crime and terrorism. Once elected they must be required to hold yearly town hall meetings where their feet would be held to the fire. Besides these we have to make sure the freedom to information bill stalled in parliament and now dusty be passed immediately into law without any further delay. Picketing and occupying parliament house by very determined citizens will move the mountains.
The president has too much power and it's time to whittle down presidential powers. We should consider electing instead of the president appointing metropolitan, district chief executives, etc. The elected officials would be more accountable to the people who elected them and who they serve. When they're appointed by the president they think they owe the people they serve no accountability. Meritocracy will also serve us much better than political patronage and cronyism.
