To add to your argument, I think strictly public schools should do away with all compulsory religious services. So-called morning devotions are intertwined with Christian teachings, and this is not fair to other religious groups or atheists. Ghana is a secular state, and we should practice the separation of religion and the institutions of state. Thus all its public institutions must remain secular. There is however nothing wrong with providing space for whoever wants to exercise his/her religion to do so in peace. But no particular religion should be purveyed in our public schools.
I have nothing to add to your take on those parochial institutions. They earned the right to dictate their religious preference when they set up their own schools.

It is unusual for a Muslim to be self-critical, that would be inviting trouble to oneself, sometimes serious consequences. So I had given up all hope of this ever occurring until coming across this article. It seems to me that something that should be easily understood by everyone becomes a problem for Muslims, not just here in Ghana but all around the world. This writer has shed some light on the inner thoughts of the Muslim mind that I never knew existed. There would be peace everywhere if all Muslims could be as bold as this writer.

Only when praying or prophesying when you are obliged to cover hair if a woman in Christianity.. Not at school or at kitchen or at all places. That's is Christian believe and so keep your believe if it's preferable for you.. Teach about Islam and how tolerance, peace and love was exhibited by the Prophet and not Christianity which you always skew to suit your believe. Teach about history of KABA at Mecca and the belief of Prophet in other so called three gods etc. Leave traditional religion and Christians alone and talk about your backyard which we know but if we are to copy you in preaching that you will pull knives and issue fatwas. Build your schools and Wear Black body dress to cover all face who cares. We are teaching the love of mankind and the humbleness of Christ at morning devotions so that our children will not be murdrers in the name of a religion as the world's is witnessing in bokoharam and ISIS. . Stay in your line and stick to your beliefs and do not ask that your religion beliefs be introduce in places built by money of other religious believes. You cannot go to Hindu monastery and ask to be allowed to walk naked because that is your African or Islamic belief.Peace be unto all God's creation.

Bro Abdul Fatawu, I disagree with you.
Laws are made to be obeyed and we are free to join associations of our choice.
Thus if I register my institution under any umbrella, I am obliged to comply with it's regulations so there are some questions we need to answer:
When education institutions register under GES what laws and regulations bind them?
Do students sign up to any religion before admission?
Was the President's directive constitutional or otherwise?
I earnestly and eagerly await true and honest answers.
To add to your argument, I think strictly public schools should do away with all compulsory religious services. So-called morning devotions are intertwined with Christian teachings, and this is not fair to other religious gro ...
