This is unclear and very worrying indeed. Should the "West" be telling us what our problems are and should they be directing us how to solve them?

THEN: "...7. We need an integrated national ID system that could have multiple uses. Perhaps, we need to talk to Nigeria and MasterCard on how to get it a national ID project right..."
OUR COMMENT: While we are thinking about it, why sole-source at this stage? Do we want to continue compounding with Bagbin-like "major thievery"?
Do we know that other companies cannot did as well as MC, at a cost just as reasonable, in the time we might want?
BONUS: "7...The country must have control of the data and local content policies must ensure at least a 30% partnership. 30%-70% partnership with any foreign company..."
OUR COMMENT: Great point!

Is it not sad, Franklin Cudjoe, to list political "closed minds" first on your list? How did these close minded politicians get into office? In nations where democratic ideals are at work success has been attributed to informed citizenry. In Ghana, we choose to normalize ignorance by heeding to bias reporting from our journalists in print and in the electronic media while we vote by tribal affiliation full of ignorance. Why else would our elected officers keep winning elections while they refuse to accept and or incorporate good ideas from their own constituents? IMANI, Franklin Cudjoe, has been a mouth piece for preferred puppet masters even while you have failed to look to the root cause of continued rot in politics.
Why must politicians of the NPP and or NDC stripe complain about dumsor or are heard by voters on who is to be blamed? If electricity is a national priority would the leaders of NPP and or NDC who on any given day cannot find their head from their feet not have drawn up plans for the complete electrification of the nation? Would they not have provided the nation with what each phase of the electrification project stood to accomplish? Instead we had J. J. Rawlings and his NDC complete a phase in the electrification scheme and Kufour and his NPP complete another electrification scheme that has not help alleviate a problem that has existed since electricity demand in Ghana exceeded what Akosombo produces for local consumption and in sales? We are sorry in Ghana and will continue our sorry ways because we have ill-informed voters who will sell their own parents for the right price offer from politicians and foreign interests alike.

The first statement being put across was our leaders must open out to ideas. Where are the ideas you are talking about? Are they those ridiculous things you have listed? Anyone can come out with ideas but are they appropriate? That is the question. Leaders are not fools, they are like footballers working harder using their strengths but any spectator off the pitch just like this Franklin Cudjoe is a coach. Any spectator being a coach can come out with any idea thinking is appropriate but on the playing field the idea is not applicable. And all those who want the government to do this and that know this. They keep on insulting, criticizing and writing these funny things so called ideas to get publicity for themselves. They think the more they write either being good or bad they attract people's attention to them and woo their respect in the society. Franklin Cudjoe knows this and this exactly what he is doing. Ghana as a country has a long way to go if these people's "talkings"can be embraced by some Ghanaians.
