Your article is very spot on. The only thing i will add is in the future, players that have taken penalties and scored in big tournament matches should be selected among the first 5 takers. Those are the players with big ball and intestinal fortitude to score. penalties should not be based on whose is the best taker in training sessions.

We always prepare to win each game and always rule out the possibilities of penalty kicks. That's our downfall.

My researches told me that the last time we met this same team including Drogba and Sokora at an AFCON knock-outs some years back, we whipped 4-3 within the 90 minutes with )katakyie Munta and Mike the Bison working out a very clever free-kick goal.
Ivory Coast brought all what they have in soocer my brother, did you see how they even kept Barry on the bench till the final?and how he was able to hype himself and terrorise our young players into submission.
COME ON GFA AND GHANAIANS, LEGGO YOUR EGOS AND GET OUR THREE AMIGOS BACK TO THE STARS WHERE THEY BELONG, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE.

How do you blow a 2 goal penalty lead? Which country loses that?
Even Mexico; let them take a 2 goal lead in penalties and see if they will lose by the fifth kick.
As for Ghana paa!!! Who knows if they have not sold this to the Ivorians.

Players must be trained to kick penalties. This strategy was adopted by Red Star Belgrade coach in the EUROPEAN Club Championship in 1991,when they beat Olympique Marseilles in the final.According to the coach of Red Star Belgrade,he selected some players and trained them very well on how to kick penalties in case they entered into the Penalty SHOOT OUT phase, and his strategy worked.PENALTY KICK TRAINING is critical. The new Black Stars coach should take note.

It could be bad luck and poor skills. I put my finger on poor skills'cause of the stars bad record on penalteis and also technically bad shootout lineup or arrangement.

I want to prove a point here. Our technical team is very weak,it's their responsibility to build confidence for the squad, technically and psychologically. You heard the Ivorian Coach saying they will win the cup because his boys are mentally stronger than the Black Stars. He knows very well that when it comes to penalty shootout the Stars will fail the test. This is not the Black Stars we know in 1982.When Rawlings gave the Stars go ahead to participate in the 82 AFCON,the Stars did not prepare very well like our Stars today but they had very good and strong player and a better technical team. When Black Stars managed to reach finals, the goal keeper trainer,John Baker opted for the 3rd goal keeper instead of Joseph Carr the number one and the best.John Baker made sure that he train Owusu Mensah how to save penalties. Some special antics, movements on the goal line and concentration. Finally,Owusu Mensah saved a crucial ball ending the match with 7-6 victory after 1-1 draw with Libya in 82.I do agree that penalty is a matter of mental toughness and skills.I would like that we use the 82 final's video as a therapy to help Stars to overcome the penalty phobia.Thank you.

I suggest the services of a sports psychologist to develop this part of our player's game. The mind is a very fragile organ and needs professional attention in this context

The goalie trainer also.failed to select an expert penalty trsiner..at least 1 of your 3 goalies must be an expert at saving penalties. When you fail to plan and prepare, you will lose. So u mean to tell me that neither sowah or fatau are better penalty stoppers than braimah? Why weren't they used? Such elementary mistakes will cost you big time
