This nonsense should stop. Government after paying Blackstars $50,000 each is paying another$25,000 to each Blackstars member through the GNPC and telling Ghanaians it is not government money. Who owns GNPC? Is it not the government of Ghana?

You must be kidding me to say that "Nothing wrong flying fans". There are a lot of things wrong and here are a few of them: Dumsor - the country can not even keep its lights on. Bad Roads - the country has bad roads and infrastructure, Poor feeding program for school children. NHIS - struggling to pay the hospitals and doctors that have done work and have not been paid. I can go on and on and on. This money could have been used to benefit a whole community instead of the selected few. Did we not learn any lessons from Btazil? we are repeating the same foolishness. What is worn with this Govt? They do not think about the people but only at the few they care about. They should go or Ghana will never be the same.

The honorable minister, apparently, is literally confused with these two football jargons used interchangeably in his write up: supporters, fans. Strictly, as pertain in football, soccer perse, a supporter is more or less the 12th member of the ball club. Apart from following the club at his own expense to matches /engagements at any given Sunday, he ?mpays for stipulated club dues, takes the joy of being proud and loyal-4 better 4 worst. Oh don' forget the chanting, the hilarious songs, the drumming and the dancing. A true follower!! Fan: That's a fun loving fan. A football enthusiast. Very passionate about the game football. However, such a follower, like the average Ghanaian, is not committed whatsoever.
How about the spectator? This brings into question Hon. Ayarigah :what category of the people you deemed to have ferried to EQG ,at the people's expense? 1.The supporter, 2. the fan 3. The spectator,4. None of the above.

Also, what is the GNPC doing sponsoring the cost of the travel, and also for electing to pay each player US$25,000. the GNPC is not a benevolent society, but a corporation which is entrusted with the care country's petroleum assets. The board and management of the GNPC should tell Ghanaians how these activities enhance their corporate responsibilities and outcomes.
I do not have any problems for the players being paid, but that must done by the Ministry of Sports on behlef of the Ghana government. It seems as if the current government is using the GNPC to incur off budget funding of their pet projects, without the normal debate. If we don't stop this practice now, the breadth of abuse that will come out of this is going to be very wide
