They think the white man must have been created special by God. Incidentally, those of us who have lived with them, sat in college classrooms with them, slept with their women, eaten with them, worked for them, and had them work for us do not see them any more special than the majority of Ghanaians do. We need expats to run this country and that is the conclusion I have come to. Since one cannot deliver what one does not possess, it is obvious that from the presidency on down, that level of intimate understanding of how the rest of the world operates is critical in order for our country to benefit from the collective leadership both politically, and otherwise that is needed to formulate a great society. The absence of expats at the most critical positions in government and the public sector is why our country has fallen on it's face everywhere we look. I know there exists a vast differential between our folks here and those who have spent most of their years outside the country, in fact some in Ghana are not even aware that great countries including China have special programs to integrate high achieving Chinese in the diaspora into their public establishments in order to benefit from the vast experience they have. For now, the argument of whether we should have a local coach or not, has ended with the 2-year contract with Avram Grant and this is just the beginning for him.
We should learn to be stable-minded people and not petty-minded people who perpetually in a state of agitation. What is needed now is to support the coach irrespective of the outcome of AFCON 2015. There is no team that wins always. Had it been so, we would have been champions at least once for 33 years now. We should stop being unreasonable in what we expect the BS to achieve. What we want them to achieve is the same thing others also want to achieve so it should not surprise us if they don't win always. When their time comes, they will be victorious even if it takes 50 years.
