You hit the nail on its head. Football today is big business. It's all about revenue. I have asked myself over and over: How can CAF increase revenue and value of the ANC when it still insists on carrying out a tournament at a time there is superabundance of football. Sorry to say but nobody cares about African football except for Africans. Why should a German wach ANC when he can follow Bundesliga? What about the Spaniards, British, French, North- and South Americans and Asians? Will they find a tournament that is being played in mostly empty stadia attractive to watch? CAF listen and learn!!! ANC should be played every 4 years and in the summer, when many international leagues take a break. Doing that you could direct international interest on the tournament, give ANC more prestige and greater exposure, increase revenue by signing lucrative TV and sponsorship deals. CAF, you're an embarrasment to all us Africans.
