People in the NPP and NDC can dream on and continue to live in their own fantasy islands where each think they have or are doing a good job for Ghana. News flash Ghana, we started at the same level as South Korea and they left us in the dust because we were busy colluding with foreign agents to overthrow our duly and democratically elected Nkrumah government.
Nkrumah has been away since 1966 and Ghana continues to lag behind South Korea multiple times over and we are still waiting on the miracle promised by NPP and their forefathers.
Here are some concepts, Amponsah-Dadzie and your NPP zealots. Successful business entities do have best practices and procedures and a culture to boot. There are prescribed punishment for those who deviate and flunk those practices and cultural norms. Ghana's NPP and NDC will never save Ghana because the culture of card carrying NPP members is to get rich stealing from government and not service to the nation and selflessness to Ghanaians. NDC like NPP is about stealing and not about showing love for or to Ghana.
There are small sectors of the Ghanaian society who benefit under NPP administration and those who benefit under NDC administrations. Governments are about the welfare of all its citizens and for as long as NPP tout itself as "yen akan fo" and the NDC is perceived as some Ewe cabal you and others can dream on. Do you Amponsa-Dadzie know why we have had this many governments in Ghana and yet no one has solved just one of the four problems of the nation namely electricity, transportation, roads and telecommunications and revenue accountability? Get a clue because your savior in the NPP is as naked and hollow as a jail bird.

What a load of rubbish! When will you ever make a positive and sensible discussion on any subject on Ghanaweb.
Have you ever thought about why Nkrumah with all his 99% support in elections could be overthrown by a Ghana Army whose commanders he had hand-picked and a security system that was 85% Nzema? (Ambrose Yankey used to pull guns on people at Gyandu with no questions asked.)
And have you ever asked yourself why the CPP (apart from 1979 when the UP people pushed their self destruct button), will never ever win an election in Ghana?
You need help!

Kofi,
I share your anguish for the sake of my grandfather whose memory I cherished greatly.
I met Mr da Rocha in 1997 and later in 2001 under different circumstances and I am certain that it was his singular approach of firmness with the proverbial Fante wit coupled with the support of RR Ampponsah (from the other side of the breach), that won the NPP Election 2000 against the odds.
The ones who really get on my nerves are those who from the comfort of their council houses in Peckham and Broadwater Estates, continue to fan those divisions.
What amazes me is the fact that that those who are fanning the flames of division do not realise that without coming together to win Election 2016, they cannot win any election in Ghana in the foreseeable future no matter who their flag bearer is!

Much as I believe every political party which really means business and wants to run a country should be united and work for a common purpose, I find it rather ridiculous for any person to think that it is their [party that would "save" our country.
I simply do not believe that any one party - NPP, NDC, PPP, NDP, CPP etc. has the singular solutions to our problems. No single party can "save" Ghana. Please banish the thought.
Focus on fighting for your party members to stopt heir internal squabbles and work together for their own electoral good but spare us that extra or saving Ghana - Not you, nor any other party on its own can "save" Ghana - and by the way, does Ghana really need saving? From what and from whom if I may ask!!!
I would rather we talk about helping to develop our country and improving livelihoods, but our nation is safe and does not need saving from yours, or any other party, thank you very much.

I share your frustration. I have had a couple of articles published here to persuade NPP members to think strategically on how to win power, but while the NDC contributors agree with me on most points, my own NPP members for whom the articles are intended don't seem to get it. They refer to me as a NDC mole. Lack of trust for our fellows firmly underpin our disunity, and it is very difficult to overcome this ill. But the few of us who are courageous enough should continue to challenge the sycophants that have been inadvertently raised by Nana Addo. They believe everything you say or suggest must be qualified with Nana Addo else it falls below party standards. These same people would turn around and blame others for the party's defeat. I never support Alan because he's an opportunist, but many of Nana's sycophants are not helping unity efforts. So I think total unity will be realized only when we win power because people need positions and will hypocritically behave themselves, in order to go with the flow. Those who understand the stakes in this political ballgame should continue to talk to, challenge, and educate others.

So, whilst some of us were genuinely resisting Rawling's unreasonable actions and the irresponsibility of the so-called "cadres of the revolution", some of you were politically motivated and were "sponsored in your political activities" by politicians!!! How very sad! By the way Ghana's independence was in 1957, not 1951 although the CPP formed the pre-independence government in 1951 by virtue of their overwhelming majority in the national congressional elections at the time.
Your article is very revealing of the disparate and chaotic nature of your party and it makes me worry if Ghana should be relying on such a disparate group which clearly has not changed over the decades to even run the government, not to talk of "saving" the country.

We know those who resisted Rawlings' autocratic rule, and you were certainly not one of them. Chaos? It's on record that NDC is the only party that has endorsed violence: President Rawlings physically assaulted his Vice, Kow Arkaah, kicked Dr Obed Asamoah out of a meeting, and nearly hit President Attah Mills if not for the timely intervention of Gbevlo and others. Indeed a goat doesn't beget a sheep, so his character has been exemplified in his followers as they use threats, violence, intimidation, and the like on their opponents. We in the NPP would rather confront ourselves at the party level to put our house in order than to resort to violence on our opponents. What we do is, we confront systems externally and ourselves internally. Your party activists are burning down offices and killing their own DCE's. They need your advice.

Nana Akuffo-Addo is destroying the party gradually, and will be dismantle in our open eyes in 2016.
My brothers and sisters in the NPP, we all know how Nana has tried his best in 2008 and 2012 with thank you, listening and etc tours but still Ghanaians rejected him.
Instead of us to sit down and analyse why Nana Addo has failed us, and given chance to corrupt and incompetent Mahama government to saddle the country with economic hardship - we are rather worshiping him.
Since 2008, we have blamed every one for Nana Addo failure to win power, we have blame Kufour, Alan, Otumfoo, Afari-Djan, Justice Atuguba and etc, but the man that face appeared on the ballot paper is being worship like God.
How can you go to the same market with the same product that as been rejected twice but expect different result.
Nana is greedy and should have left the scene for Bawumia to win power for us. NDC could not have match us if we have selected Bawumia with Alan as his running mate. It would have stop NDC propaganda of NPP as Akan Party and also unite the factions in the party.
How can we present Nana who will be 72 years when we have competent, youthful and likable people like Alan Kyeremateng still around.
One nana supporter told that, this Nana's time. My question is - when will Nana's time ends for someone to come and win us election like Kufour?

Keep worshipping Akuffo-Addo and get Mahama for four more years. Insults and all die be die does not win elections but proper message which you and all nana supporters lack.
Go back and read what Nana Addo said in 1997 when contesting Kufour. When you are given the chance to stand for NPP, you already have 30% and failure to get the remaining 20% +1 is a failure and needs to be change. He also said we should not be afraid to change because changes bring in new ideas and strategies.
With all these, he still want to go for third time. Can he be trusted? This is just greed aand also Konong kayak.

Kufuor is the cause of the factions in the party. I've never seen an inward-looking party leader like him. He knew per our party ideals, we are Liberal Democrats who believe in healthy competition but he trampled this fine ideal and wanted to tie the hands of party gurus and give Alan an edge over the rest in flag bearer race. When it backfired, his faction has been hanky punky in their approach to issues that border party unity. They play hard, aggressive at the primaries and recoil in their shelves at the national's. So I challenge you to fight the party's good fight all those of you who sympathize with Kufuor and Alan. NPP is the only party we feel comfortable with. Period! Thank you.
