Upon the numerous men and women of Mole Dagban who constitute 52.2% of Northern Ghana, let us question ourselves. How many developmental projects are in the North? How much do we benefit from the national cake we all run after? How many government officials do we have and, how many of them are ready to bring developmental projects to the North? The most pathetic of all the questions is that; how many top government offices in the North are chaired by a Mole Dagomba? Aba! Can we not reason with the world of common sense?

We have everything: hardworking. Unity /togetherness when it comes to work. Suprisingly we even go for annual game together. However, we must eschew the "we and them" attitude. Which becomes so strong that we even don't mind eliminating them, because we feel what ever they do do not benefit us. Lets forgive.

M'mabihi, n'puhiri m'mabia Abdul-Latif. I'm the happiest person on earth having lived to see a point where we now begin to discuss our unity and the effects of politics on it as well as the essence of chiefs and what impact they have on our lives.
Our unity truly means our strength and power as people an we should not forget that we cannot achieve that unity without an effort. Individuals and groups are out there doing all that they can to keep us apart for one reason or another that every 'dagban alali' knows. Our chiefs who are supposed to be a symbol of unity and a custodian of our tradition which ensures our social fabric have failed us and the immediate results are crime, moral decadence and violence. The question now is why are we killing each other and destroying properties for a chief? what impact does who is a chief have on your life? M'mabihi, our chiefs like the politicians are out to satisfy ONLY their selfish interest.
We are used as political pawns. We do the dirty work and we benefit the least. Our political differences should be for the purpose of diversity to bring us development irrespective of the political climate and should not be taken as bitter rivalry that will hit our heads together for the benefit of the third party, the politicians, who unfortunately happen to be our own people.
M'mabihi, what I'm waiting for is a formation of non-align dagban that transcends chieftaincy boundaries and embraces every mole Dagomba who thinks of nothing but our development as a people. Let us ignore the chiefs and let them sit down to reflect and to realize that the throne is their family matter. If they cannot resolve it then we have no place for them in our society.

If only we can promote ingenuity and industry and reward hard work instead of rewarding criminals, the corrupt, thieves and robbers and the lazy . If only we can move away from the dependency culture and create a state where if you study and work hard you'll never live the life of a beggar but enabled to provide for the day to day needs of self, wife and children. The world is moving at a very fast pace and not waiting for nor rewarding sluggards. We need to maintain the old qualities that promote do it yourself attitude and bravery and inter-dependence and stay away from the dependency culture that has crept surreptitiously among us. I'm not talking only about the Mole Dagban Kingdom but about the people of Ghana. Bring Back the Same Old Feeling into our modernized environment.
