Did we ever had any values?.Since independence we have been ruled by mostly thieves and liars and the vast majority of uneducated look on not understanding what is going on.Education is the key else we are doomed.

I'm reading your article late in the day where I live and close to dawn in Ghana .
The title you chose could not escape my attention and feel obliged to let you how much I enjoyed reading your pertinent observations and genuine concerns about Ghana's social , moral, political and economic stagnation and deterioration. You do not fail, however, to impress profusely with your optimism about the future.
We have to admit that corrupt and greedy politicians are to blame for the trajectory of worsening conditions in the country. All is not lost yet. We can get back to basics, making the bee-line to the values we once knew that made us the cynosure of our neighbors and visitors from all over the world.
There can not be any re-awakening, a reformation, if we don't institute measures to make good morals and habits attractive by rewarding patriotism, good citizenship, hardwork, industry ingenuity and innovation as opposed to the present trend of rewarding malfeasance especially by public officials and those who break our laws with impunity. To make a clear distinction between good money and blood money every income will have to be accounted for. Failure to disclose income and assets must be a punishable offense. A new day of progress would have dawned in Ghana if we should put a stop to celebrating criminals and criminality.
There ought to be a level playing field with all players abiding by the same rules. Finally the process of citizen identification must be accelerated for it to become a reality in the next year or two because the lack of it is a huge impediment to progress. Yours truly.
