You, Cameron Duodu, had the gall to accuse Nkrumah of starting corruption in Ghana! That was the falsehood AND propaganda you spread through your book "The Gab Boys". How many galamsey workers were there in Ghana during Nkrumah's time? I put it to you that this country is going through this evil of galamsey because of the greater evil committed by the NLC you supported and the various regimes that have come after Osagyefo's overthrow in dismantling the factories, industries and other assets built by Nkrumah for the people's good!
No crocodile tears now!

Old CPPist: You probably were a "collateral-beneficial" of the 10%
commissions that the top CPP folks collected from "industries".
That, unfortunately, was the GENESIS of "corruption in Ghana"!

Nkrumah's industries were the result of government-to-government trade and cooperation agreements between the then Eastern European countries, the Soviet Union and Mao's China. There were no private companies and greedy, corrupt Kufuors and his frontmen, the E.O. Group, to grab juicy percentages!
Your propaganda sources, no doubt, never informed you, for example, of a British businessman coming to Ghana when Busia took over to acquire the "very bad" Soviet fishing trawlers to use in Western Europe!!! How dumb can you be!

Where in THE GAB BOYS did Cameron Doudo say that corruption started with Nkrumah? How could he have made such a stupid statement, since everyone except a befuddled Old "CPPist" like you knows that corruption is part of human nature? Have you read anything Shakespeare wrote some 500 years ago?

So you believe Kwame Nkrumah should have been allowed to be the president for life till today. Was it not during his time when Krobo Edusei imported a golden bed. Was it not during his time that disused farming machineries were repainted and imported into the country as new ones. If these were not corruption, what were they?

They are more interested in spending millions of hard earned cocoa cash on issuing ID cards..because some goddamn German company advised them to do so.

It may not have started under your watch. But, it is your responsibility to manage the problem and reduce its impacts - now and in the future.

Kowardis, Nkrumah actually spoke openly against, and warned the CPP Cadres against those illegal practices. He had dismissed ministers who were corrupt and warned the Cadres against this practice in several addresses including the Inauguration of Kumasi as a City and Opening of City Hotel in Kumasi in 1962.
Cameron Duodu calls for journalists to 'arm themselves with facts'. This is a fundamental for everyone, but I wonder if he actually follows his own advice at all times. Accusing Nkrumah of "starting corruption" in Ghana is an unfair and false characterization which sadly has gone on for far too long without challenge.

It is so disrepectful to seize on somebody else's heartfelt pain and use it to make irrelevant comments. How callous can some people be? Is Cameroon Daudu asking anyone to give him anything? If you insult those who want to see progress in the country, then what will you do when those selfish individuals who promote themselves write things to deceive you? Shame. Maybe Ghana deserves unconcern citizens like some of you.
