Okoampa is a rascal who behaves like a parrot. He writes, but fails to think about what he writes.
What Okoampa refuses to see is that Dr. Nkrumah was not against the traditional rulers, rather he fought against those traditional rulers who could not comprehend the need for national unity, but insisted on promoting tribalism and all the evil that come with it. Dr. Nkrumah was also against certain barbaric and backwards cultural practices which some of the traditional leaders and their brainless "subjects" were engaging in.
Osagyefo tried to level the playing field and move the young nation from a feudal state to the next level backed by science, technology and spiritual awakening while maintaining the progressive aspect of the Ghanaian culture.
Okoampa lives and teaches in the United States where democracy is practiced, and the opportunity to become a rulers in this advanced nation is not by blood or birthright. Maybe, the traditionalist Okoampa may want to learn a thing or two from the American to upgrade his outlook in life.

It is refreshing to have Paul respond in a befitting manner to the piece from Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe. As pointed out in the present article and noted by several commentators before this one, the original article was flawed, highly skewed and even conceptually deceptive. Thanks, Paul, for providing this refreshing dimension, based on critical analysis.

This Akyem guy had over there years sought To discredit Dr Kwame Nkrumah for all the good he did for Ghana and Africa. Many of the black race both at home and in the diaspora have over the years been inspired by him, his works and ideas. I believe that the only reason Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahuofeh and the likes of him loathe Dr Kwame Nkrumah is because they believe he "took" something from them that they believe is "rightfully" theirs. Unfortunately, their world view of how Ghana and Africa is far inferior to that of Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Dr Kwame Nkrumah's ideas are far superior to theirs and has stood and is still standind the test of time. Unfortunately for them, posterity continues to vindicate Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Each time they try to denigrate and vilify his image, someone, some group or some country somewhere honour him. Many of those who denigrate his image wished they had him as their relative. Dr Kwame Okoampa-Ahuofeh must get a life.

Unlike Okoampah-Ahoofe, you are obviously a highly intelligent man who argues with facts. The arrogant and cognitively challenged Okoampah-Ahoofe validates the old adage of empty barrels make the most noise.

The effort by Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. and his ilk to re-write our History to highly enhance the image of their political idol and relative, J. B. Danquah, continues unabated. It all could be tolerated and even heartily welcomed, if that exercise hasn't been rooted in its concomitant denigration of Dr. Nkrumah and anyone else who presents a contrarian view to their agenda.
Okoampa-Ahoofe's attitude so fully fulfills the horrific expectations from those many have dubbed to be operating with a "P.H.D." (Pull Him Down) methodologies. Such are those who only believe in destroying the image of others in order to have theirs and their idols the only worth-noting. It is a game of relative prominence. And I see that as a self-limiting, self-defeating exercise.
It is only when we acknowledge the prowess of our competitors and decide to take it as a challenge we need to surpass that we really end up being better. If we simply give ourselves the excuse of the other's failings to show how impeccable we perceive ourselves to be, we would be most likely only trying too hard for the Public to accept our own mediocrity as the best possible performance anyone could put out.
Surely, we could criticize our competitors' faults. But we must only do so in recognition of our own. If we refuse to accept that we are also fallible and want the World to see us as saintly and perfect through the faults of the other we are comparing ourselves with, we come out as not only arrogant but also as disingenuous.
Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. cannot tell us that whatever he blames Dr. Nkrumah for in our perceived moral decadence, he and his other Moral Police could not take all these decades after the deceased Head of State to help change direction for the better. The only way that might happen is when these clique of pontificating moralists did nothing, absolutely nothing to change the course.
One should refer to Okoampa-Ahoofe's article that he published to trash President Kufuor alongside J. H. Mensah and touching perversely on President Kufuor's marriage to see how high Okoampa-Ahoofe's morals are!!
He cannot tell us it was Dr. Nkrumah who programed him to be that obtuse.
