I Disagree With Mahama's Press Intimid
I am just baffled how Nayeli Ametefe aka Ruby Adu-Gyamfi thought she was going to walk through Heathrow Airport Customs check point with one fourth weight of cement bag of cocaine in her luggage.
This is not a dumb woman who has not done this before. She was expecting some kind of help to get the cocaine through and the conflicting statements from the Foreign Minister and Ghana High Commissioner in England shows somebody higher up in power is hiding something.
The Foreign Minister accepted that there was a Ghana High Commission car at the Airport the time and day Nayeli was arrested at the Airport but it was not there to pick Nayeli up but was rather there to pick some people from the Ghana Ministry of Defense.
The Ghana High Commissioner in England, Mr Smith on the other hand has denied flatly that there was any High commission car at the Airport. Who are we to believe, the Foreign Minister or Ambassador Smith?

Fellow Ghanaians
Doublespeak seems a daily second language and may reflect a calculating mind as easily as an addled one to this caliban, Sarpong.
To sarpong and his ilk, a "pepeni"should never be a president of Ghana. Such is the hatred they habor for a Northener. In an ad hominem style, Sarpong and Company frequently appeal to their own prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to their intellects or reasons, as by attacking a Northener and his race rather than the issue at hand.
Sarpong, the flippancy and ad hominem attack on the people of the north are noisome enough and ill serve the seriosness of the issue at hand. But to you and your friends, stirring of old red herrings, for instance calling a Ghanaian a 'Pepeni' is needed to satisfy your pro Nazi innuedos.
These men, Sarpong and Company, are rather the elegant grostesques, delicate brutes, Calibans and Ariels in one overcrowded flesh!

A Gersis, i am surprised at your comment because I do not think you took in what the chap wrote. He just quoted the number plate of a vehicle. He did not refer to anyone as you seem to suggest. In any case, PEPENI is not a bad term as coined by the Akans to refer to people from the northern part of Ghana. The original was "Penpen ni" which salutary, rather than derogatory. Over the years, it has been corrupted to its present form, "Pepeni", but I do not think the meaning should be lost on any one.

You probably do not understand Sarpong and his ilk. They are the beastly bunch whose sermons here on Ghanaweb are often sprinkled with slogans of clannish hot stuffs, cripsly prepared for their escapist- hordes who want to believe the worst in a notherner.
Why should Sarpong even write about a 'pepeni'? He's masking his hatred of a Northener with those words.
His writing is so vile and is a retail brand peddled by his ilk, full of guiles and pretences. He is a demagogue who makes his readers feel their identities are treatened by a Northner. In all, intense hate serves as a common fuel to every hue of evil in him and his ilk. In my thinking, sarpong is tribal by nature and being clannish is part of his heritage.

I am cock sure you (Gersis) are rather being tribal with your comments and attacks on Sarpong.
Like I said, because you are perhaps being controlled by drugs or something, you cannot get it that sarpong is simply saying that, the Ibrahim guy is owing a Car number plate "Pepenii #1" and it is a fact. Ask yourself why would he Ibrahim Mahama use a special Car number (plate) in Ghana which is costing OVER 10,000,0000 Million old Ghana Cedis?
So, if for a reason best known to Ibrahim, he chooses to use a number Pepenii # 1 in Ghana, what then is wrong about Sarpong saying it.
Anyway, GERSIS are you from the North? If yes, do you people have inferiority complex? If not, then "shut the fuck", and continue sniffing your cocaine, you bitch!!!

How safe are flight passengers travelling from the Kotoka International Airport?
Assuming Ametefe or any other criminal person with strong connections in Ghana like Ametefe, had attempted assassination with a bomb on board of a flight from Kotoka International Airport, the person would have killed hundreds of innocent people because of the loose security at the KIA due to may be greed, bribery, corruption, nepotism and party politics.
Significantly Kotoka International Airport has become dangerously loose in terms of security to the travelling public.

What makes Nayeli's case more damaging to the country is that,
1. An individual who has no business to use a facility reserved for government and foreign government officials is allowed to use this facility to deal in drugs.
2.This particular case has exposed how porous our Airport is that it is easy to get officials to allow contraband to go into the plane with the right price.
3. What about if this was not a cocaine but terrorists planting bombs in the plane?
Just the mere fact that 12.5 kilograms of cocaine can easily be allowed into the plane from somebody who used a foreign passport to transport drugs from VVIP lounge into a plane has exposed Ghana as a dangerous place to get into a plane and terrorists have taken note.

Whilst I will not defend Amoateng on any forum and his case dented the reputation of Ghana, any individual who wants to do indepth analysis will realize that, whilst Amoateng's deed was done without any assistance from the government and might have travelled through the VIP lounge because he was a member of Parliament"
When you remove that NPP lens from your eyes and stop thinking with the head of that drug baron you see as a god, you will know that Amoateng was duly assisted by the NPP government under Kuffour. Aren't you ashamed to even mention or compare the two to make such a statement? Ghanaians should rather be afraid of Amoateng's than Nayele because Amoateng was trusted by the citizens of Ghana through the ballot box and entrusted with one of the highest national pride to make and shape laws, and what did he do? So, do not even compare. Who was then the minister of Foreign Affairs, was it not Nana Addo? Why was he and the others in NPP pushing to pass a law to make Ghanaian criminals abroad including drug traffickers be brought back home for trial? Was Amoateng not an NPP financier whose travel plans with the drug was well known by the then NPP government? Have you also asked yourself why Nana Addo has been so quiet on the Nayele's saga?
You guys should wake up and stop destroying Ghana simply because you are in opposition and have no means to be doing those corrupt deals you use to do under Kuffour. Mahama is a firm and focused leader who does not take nonsense! Also remember the public servants working at the Airport including those at he VIP and the VVIP section were put there by Kuffour. Are we therefore to conclude they are NPP guys messing up the security of the nation for party benefits?

I am therefore pleading to my fellow ghanaians to stop associating our presidents both former and present,s names to these men and women of the underworld. We are now on the verge of becoming the laughing stalk of the whole wide world and I do not think that is what you want for Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah,s Ghana. Claims that he helped John Mahama to win the elections and all that should not be a licence for Ibrahim to be shadowing the president everywhere, trying to draw attention from the president to himself. It is Mahama that was voted for not Ibrahim. There is no need defending the indefencible. Why should the President's brother be driving the same car registered in the same manner by a notorious cocain dealer? This is cass of guilty by association. Ibrahim needs to live above reproach. The high time is too much. His huge appetite for grandiour life style does not reflect the social ideals of the NDC party. Toomuch associations with all manner of people some with very dubious characters. Ibrahim needs to choose his friends with greater circumspection. There is a lot of poverty in the country, he can adopt some orphanges and renovate hospitals and schools. That is a better way of spending his money and winning more friends for his brother, instead of turning his house into a car pack with all the latest brands of cars with strange and revealing number plates. That only drives away potential voters. Those high society parties and events patronage by Ibrahim must stop now. Enough is enough. John Mahama must sit Ibrahim down and have a franck conversation with him. Else his reign could be coming to an unpleasant end.

My fellow, OKATAKYIE SARPONG, for all you know, this astonishing suggestion, allegation, accusation and insinuation of Ibrahim Mahama's involvement in Ms Nayeli Ametefeh's cocaine trafficking scandal could be entirely untrue.
Of course, for Ms Nayeli Ametefeh to gain access to the VVIP Lounge and to get the parcels of cocaine delivered to her inside the BA aircraft obviously suggest the involvement of top NDC government official and/or high-profile financier of the NDC party. The question here is: who is that said "Alhaji" Ms Hannah Tetteh claimed in her account and who Nayeli failed to reveal his real identity? This suggest that Nayeli has deep connections to high profile member[s] of the NDC party/government.
Yes, some arrests have being made, but what about tracing, arresting and exposing that "Alhaji"? Surely, that "Alhaji" can't be presented by the NDC government as some kind of shadowy figure. The NDC government needs to address this matter seriously. And, in fact, I expect the opposition NPP to hold NDC's feet to fire over who that "Alhaji" is.

Mike, it is not outrageous at all. The world is not as stupid as some Ghanaians are. They bare aware Amoateng did his deed singlehandedly without any government assistance despite his position as a a member of Parliament, he ...

These guys know no shame when it comes to cocaine, they want everybody to wear their garb with them. They could even have orchestrated Nayele just to tarnish the reputation of NDC. This should be investigated thoroughly.
All that has been said by the writer sounds plausible even convicing. My problem is why does the writer cover up the past deed of the NPP? We can never find a solution to the drug problem if we continue to be partisan. The Ho ...
