The Black Stars are not playing like a "championship team" and I do not think they can Win the 2015 AFCON.Mark my words. Offensively they are not playing the right way, defensively very disorganized, Midfield very shaky.

Ghana has to simply sneak out its group and then take advantage of the silly mistakes that all African teams make. It is not impossible. I can already tell that they are going to go 1-1-1 in the group stage. That will probably be enough. After that you have to win three games. Not impossible. If Gyan, Dede and Kasa are back and healthy this is possible. If I where a betting man I would say, 60% chance of getting out of the group. 50% chance of getting to the final four. 25% chance of winning the entire thing.

Our midfield and central defense are weak. Our 3 central defenders of Boye,Mensah and Awal play the same way, bugabuga tackling and only Awal is good in the air. The only way we can hold attackers is if we have a good defensive midfielder such as Essien or Annan, but we don't have that in Rabiu at the moment. Kwadwo Asamoah flopped badly when he played that position in our first match of the qualifiers. After that, Konadu decided to play Dede as a winger in order to retain both Kwadwo Asamoah and Badu in the attacking midfield but Dede is a poor winger, he is only good at the midfield or when paired with Gyan at the front. For some reason Kasa and Badu can't control the midfield even though they are both good midfielders. I think Dede should be brought back as attacking midfielder to help Kasa stabilize the midfield with Badu as a substitute unless Dede is used otherwise as a striker to support Gyan. So in short, our problem is the midfield and central defense.

The only absolutely solid team I have seen during these qualifiers are Algeria but even then, their MLS goalie was not really tested in their qualifying group. We know that all African teams are prone to inconsistency so I am not expecting this team to win it all but I also know that this is African football and anything can happen. Uganda beat Ghana 1-0 and everyone acted like the sky was falling. Then Uganda looked like a joke against Guinea. That is Africa for you. The land of inconsistency. Ugandans are now home crying and Ghana is at the big dance.
