On a visit to China last week, President Obama surprised the whole world by reaching an important agreement with China to phase out the use of coal between now and 2030, because even the Chinese have acknowledged that coal, regarded as the main culprit of the emission of greenhouse gas (GHG) is causing respiratory ailments in their country.
Without a doubt, the burning of coal releases GHG the main contributor to climate change;
and that's why renewable energy should be the sane alternative to Africa's energy mix.
