What's new in that? Who doesn't know that such things can be done?
This article can only come from a person who feels obliged to produce words every day...

I think you missed the import of the message. Okoampa is not just listing what can be done but rather what government should do. In a nutshell he is suggesting that it is not enough for government to remove Pupil Teachers from the classrooms but to also put in place adequate measures to accommodate the fallout from the exercise which may include 1. large class sizes (i.e.increased work load) for the certified teachers remaining 2. unemployment for those laid off 3. Drop in educational standards etc. We may not agree with Okoampa most of the time but we must at least give him some credit whenever he comes up with ideas worth pondering over(minus the political extremism of course)

Surely if the Ministry of Education knows it job and ensuring that startegies are in put we would not be seeing these articles at all. it is the inability of the Minister and his/her department failure in making sure this had already taken palce non teacher given up date on a yearly beasis . The pupils need the teachers or has the Ministry got a Plan B to replace these sacked teachers. Knowing that Ministry there isn't a plan B. They themselves have to be sacked buy the President because the entire Minstry is not fit for pourpose. Period.
