It doesn't surprise me they are friends of Mahama. How could they have come with such such a potential mass killing idea? Dumb fucks.

The money gain from hosting the tournament could be lost from fighting ebola if an infected supporter from these region enters the country & causes epidemic.

I do not even understand why the black stars players honoured this football match with Guinea. They should also use thier brains.

Those in power in Ghana are themselves fools or ignorants, they don't even believe ebola outbreak and the disease is real. How earth would a nation be positioning itself to host a tournament in a region that is ravaged by a virus with 70% mortality rate? They want to throw this nation to the wolves and they don't care!

Thank you Mr. Kofi Afedo. You have said it all. But if only your words can penetrate the Ayariga and Mahama skulls is yet to be seen. It is sad that our president, the minister of health and the sports minister are unable to understand that ebola is nothing to joke with and therefore make a sensible decision to put this football match on hold till it is safe. It is obvious that wise African leaders are refusing to host this game but those who are the exact opposite will do everything to host social gatherings like this AFCON. I wish this your message will be delivered to the leaders of our nation. Please honourable leaders of Ghana stop this planned disaster before it is too late.

James, this is an impressive and sensible piece. Ghana government's prime concern should be the health of the nation, and NOT the economic benefits of hosting the AFCON 2015. Morocco took a sensible decision, but it appears the pig-headed NDC government is taking the threat of the Ebola epidemic lightly.
Touch wood, so far Ghana hasn't recorded any Ebola case but the Government shouldn't take any chances. Potentially, expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors and football fans from Ebola-stricken countries could lead to the spread of the Ebola virus in Ghana regardless of the necessary precautions, checks and control measures the Government will put in place during that period.
