NPP does not need to waste its money on Volta and Northern Regions, they need to focus on their strongholds making sure they get all registered voters to the polling stations and the swing states -- Western, Central, Greater Accra and Brong Ahafo. That is how the game is played, unless you have a boat load of money to burn then you stretch yourself to areas you know whatever you do, you will never win. In fact as much as I like Bawumia for his boldness and being feisty, I believe he does not add anything to the ticket as a VP nominee,if NDC maintains their current ticket with Mahama on top of the ticket. NDC has a great working strategy which is breaking the Akans votes by choosing a VP for flagbearer from the Central region. The reverse of NPP picking a Northerner at the bottom of the ticket does not work on the NPP side. Until we start using polls, it really becomes difficult to predict results of elections.

You portray yourselves as though everything is rosy within the NDC. Haven't you already heard General Mosquito, Kofi Adams, Yaw Boateng and co? They're at each others throat. They're like dogs, barking at each other for power? Coming events cast their shadows. Now let's wait and see what happens after October 18 when Nana wins hands down the NPP presidential bid. Continue to live in that stupid dreamland of yours; tickle yourself and enjoy the feeling that it exudes. The feeling that NDC will reign for ever. I'm telling you here and now that NDC can't win any clean and fair election in Ghana, except through massive thievery, clandestine, underground, evil orchestrations and dealings. Have you forgotten so soon about the last elections? Mahama couldn't have won if the stupid, Old Thief, Afari Gyan and EC hadn't collaborated, condoned and connived with NDC. They corrupted the whole electoral process. The evidence came to light during the infamous Election Petition court hearing, that was viewed live on TV by all. The inexcusable, numerous, gargantuan, unprecedented fraudulent acts of omission, over-voting, blaa blaa blaa, was heart bleeding. Yet at the end of the day, Oye Lithur and others managed to meet with the Judges. A conspiracy that saw the Supreme Court ruling in favour of NDC. Yes, all of these happened! It won't happen again, no matter how hard NDC tries this time round. A. Lincoln's "You can't fool all of the people all of the time", is true. And again, evildoers can't always have their field day. Their evil deeds will definitely see the light of day.

If you are talking about effective campaign strategy and well oiled machine to win general elections then you will have to be very careful and intelligent.In Ghana,it is the swing regions that crown the day but not the strong holds.You cannot become the president of Ghana without winning Greater Accra,Central and Western regions.These regions formed the base of the Gold Coast.You can win all the votes in Ashanti and Eastern regions without becoming president but for Greater Accra you will surely carry the day.Think about it.Thank you.

Even if it is the case that swing regions win elections as you are postulating, the issues raised are still valid. The NDC has appointed people from the regions you mentioned, Greater Accra,Central and Western, in very high positions. Examples are the minister for energy and the vice president. Kuffuor's time in office showed us who got the juicy bits and who got what was left after. Inclusiveness is something NPP has to look at if it is to win power in the near future. NPP supporters can castigate all they want, harp on the terrible economy situation and insult NDC everytime, but if they do no solve their own internal democratic issues and learn to respect others, I'm sorry they will never win power.

That's why some of us are very upset with the way things are currently done at the party. For instance the decision to replace Perry Okudzeto as the acting communication director was in bad faith. The decision by some big party executives to promote another Ashanti man ( Allan K) as the next flag bearer over the others is also worrying . Kufour started this but most NPP supporters were very blind to realize what he was gradually promoting...ethnocentrism. He felt the right person to succeed him was his fellow tribesman Allan Kyeremanteng hence his decision to support and promote him over his loyal Vice President. He even went further to sacking ministers and DCE's who didn't promote the course of Allan. Some of us are for Nana Addo because we can envisage some changes in this regard should he become president one day. So please fellow NPPians let's swallow our pride, take this criticism and observation by this writer in good faith and start reaching out to the other minority tribes.
