The issue of Science and Religion led to those days of witch-hunting, blasphemies and heresies. Those who believe in their religion are dogmatic and steeped in them, be they enlightened in science or not. Religious
fanaticism and agnostic atheism are poles apart. Francis Bacon, Tacho Brahe, Thomas Khun, Lakatos, Bertrand Russell, Karl Popper, among others gave us the Scientif Method of empiricity, but before them, the alchemists and the early philosophers like Aristotle did not know the thin line between science(fact) and religion(fiction)/belief. Thus the contest between state and the church ended in bloody wars in the Crusades, Jihads, Civil Wars, and continental wars. Francis, this essay provokes thought or critical thinking but it cannot be laid to rest because it is convoluted. Regards.

This is the guy who will read series of
nonsense somewhere without really understanding it and will hurriedly copy them
from one paragraph to another and just paste them anyhow together as an article for Ghanaweb.
This is how the water-head Kwarteng can flood Ghanaweb with his useless stuff.

Creationists and evolutionists look through different prisms and tainted glasses because they all make assumptions which could be fallacious. However, faith-based beliefs over long beliefs also evolve with man, while the creationists have to refine and rebase their findings as new evidence is unearthed by technological advance. So who is right? It all depends.

Dear Prof. Donsuro,
I am happy you mention Francis Bacon, Bertrand Russell, Karp Popper, Thomas Kuhn, etc. I do remember Bertrand Russell very well because I came across his revolutionary ideas in functional analysis (mathematics, logic, set theory, topology), Francis Bacon because he has been proposed as one of the authors who may have written the works of Shakespeare (the so-called Shakespeare Authorship Question), and the rest in my science (natural philosophy)/philosophy/world history classes and private readings!
There was not enough time on my side to delve into what each of these men and women may have contributed to the scientific method. But I hope readers who are interetsted can take it up from there.
I am also happy you mention wars, jihads, the crusdes, etc. These all contributed to the seperation between science and religion (superstition) (The French Revolution, Inquisition, etc).
May be we should take up these other dimensions in detail sometime in the future. There is more to this controversial topic than meets the eye!
Thanks.

Dear Prof. Donsuro,
I just concluded a long discussion with a Christian friend of mine (he goes to Central, Rev. Otabil's chruch).
My friend is very knowledgeable and scientific. He comes from a background of sociology. He is like you in many ways, Christian yet undogmatic and open to innovative ideas. There are not many intellectual Christians like you two.
Actually my friend has asked me to research the convergences between science and religion (Christianity). I shall take this up in the future. We should pick up this conversation again.
