There is no appetite for change in Ghana. No money was allocated to Climate Change in the budget. Always waiting for the white-man to solve our problems. Many the public do not read apart from Nigeria movies to know what is going on around the. Policy and decision-makers are simply ignorant about the real issues confronting the country's lack of development: all that they enjoy is been call HONORABLE. That receiving honary accolade for being ignorant about the he/she does. What a shame: the wait and see attitude is what is taking so many into their graves in an untimely manner while corruption and diverse crime are on the ascendency

Menuah Kwesi, you have woefully failed to pinpoint the effects and impacts of climate change on the Ghanaian economy. You were all over some of the unsustainable things Ghanaians are doing to waste our natural resources, without getting into what is really causing climate change. Writing in paragraphs, showing the main ideas and their supporting details might have helped.
"We should introduce carbon tax for all motorists to pay for emissions of carbon monoxide", should rather read - to pay for the emissions of GHG (greenhouse gas).
Mr. Sakyi, I sincerely think you should have spent a paragraph or two to talk about mitigation and adaptation measures we can all take to tackle the effects and impact of climate change on the Ghanaian economy.

Dear Marcus Amapdu,
You should have given your website (cefosua.com) to readers.
I know it may still not be ready but it should be a good start if at least know about the email address.
Thanks.

On ghanaweb forum, if you write a long piece trying to exhaust all areas of your topic, you are a bore and harangue. When try to be brief and a bit perfunctory, touching the main issues, some people want more. It is really a balancing act. Climate issues are paramount and of such urgency but many people and countries give it a wide berth and treat it to Cinderella looks because it costs a lot and people are rooting for supernormal profits, not caring two hoots for their negative externalities, social bads, and huge carbon footprints caused by the impact of their economic activities which in the long run affect global commons such as the azure blue skies, greyish green oceans, and the verdant greens around. Very soon, we shall be talking of red skies, brown trees, black seas, stunted animals, and mutated humans!

Thanks Marcus, your comments are welcome. Perhaps you are encouraging me to do a Part 2. We see things differently because my background is Geography/Economics, in short, Social Sciences and yours is the Physical Sciences.

Just look at the number of comments people have made on this issue of climate change, an important topic that we all play are a part in contributing to, and also affects everybody in the world and in the country. I guess Ghanaians don't find the topic as lending its self to the " sensationalism of political feuds and squabbling .."
Besides, climate change is real, it is not a hoax.

Thanks for the education, Brother Kwesi/Marcus.

Are we really managing our natural resources? who is monitoring economic activities contributing directing to climate change? we are all in Accra sleeping in big big hotels and wasting resources.

I disagree with you that goats are the subjects of over grazing in northern part of Ghana. And you did't touch on bush burning in northern Ghana, I believe it is actually the major cause of vegetation lost.
