That's one thing that doesn't endear Manasseh to many people especially to Ghanaians living abroad and visitors to ghanaweb like me.
The guy is always blowing his horns. He believes that he is sooooo good. He has told everybody that he came from humble roots, attended Krachi Secondary school (a village school), etc but has now risen high - very high indeed. He has told us that he got Second Upper but EVERYBODY knew he was a first class guy who was cheated out of his due.
And this is him thinking that he should have been declared Journalist of the Year - every year.
But if you read his articles, you realise that they are very ordinary. You are surprised that he is a prize winner - until you remember that the overall quality level of journalism in Ghana is very low.
Manasseh has stopped sending his articles to ghanaweb because visitors to this site don't often come and praise him like his mates do on joyonline. There are many who are more critical on ghanaweb (even though there are many fools here too). Manasseh cannot, obviously, live in an environment where people are very critical and do not praise him all the time.
Manasseh should stop praising himself and concentrate on getting better at his work. He is young and inexperienced and has a big gap of improvement ahead of him to cover.
Then he should travel outside - USA, UK, Canada (where Ato Dadzie is now), even France, Germany, Holland (if he is willing to learn a new language) and see REAL JOURNALISM and learn more to improve the same in Ghana.

Well said, KBK - journalism in Ghana is very poor. Any one who can add letters to form a word wants to be praised. Sometimes the nature of the articles we read puts some of us off. Terribly poor journalism! The journalists he ... read full comment

KBK, boy, I couldn't agree more with your spot-on observations about Manasseh....he is so full of himself, it is breathtaking......and he is just a scrivener in Ghana where as you rightly pointed out, the standard of journalism is abysmally low....
His take-down of SADA was his vehicle to stardom. His scathing and poisoned articles about corruption and graft pervasive within the agency was sparked by its refusal to make him director of communications....angry and rebuffed, he used his position as the lead reporter with Joy F.M. and aided and abetted by his southern paymasters he did a number on the agency.
Oh yes, you hit the nail right on the head.....if he ventures outside the shores of Ghana and sees how real journalism is practised, he would be humbled. He would be better served talking to some of us who toiled as cub reporters with newspapers in the US and he would learn first hand that your ability to write is constantly questioned by those who have this awkward perception about anything African and the capability of Africans to do anything right....
At the end of it all, I don't blame Manasseh;he is swollen-headed with the meagre achievements under his belt and expects more because of the likes of the author of this torturous piece who just engaged in the most egregious lovefest I have ever read on Ghanaweb....what about those who have won the Pulitzer Prize in journalism, the most prestigious prize in the profession in the world and no one gives a hoot about them?

It's nice to know others agree with my take on the subject. And it's even nicer to know those who agree with me know what they are talking of. That is very satisfying, I must admit...
