Fellow Ghanaians
The last time I visited with "Dzatawodzi" or the ‘Lion's Heart was in the summer of 2013. We both had a mental tour of our most enjoyable days flying the Italian Marchii.
I know the approach maneuvers really appeal to his sensory inputs so I made it a point to discuss it with him.
The seat of the pants feeling is very real, and the sounds the jet makes when he pulls the stick into his lap with the wind rushing over the wing creats a giant WOOOOSH that he could feel the airframe buzzing.
Lion's Heart could feel his youth coming back to remind him of the days he was dogfight training in the skies of Aburi.
The days that he spent at the Air Base reminded him of his first instrument approach. The approach techniques- the altitude, the airspeed, vertical velocity, TACAN course, localizer course, glide slope, and the pitch/bank are instrument flying that come naturally to this ace pilot.
Lion heart was laughing himself to joy, thinking he is a young man again when we talked about flyong over our BIG BLUE RIVER, the Volta.
When he was young, he could fly up the initial at 280 KCAS. He could also fly where the standard is to pitchout over the numbers. He would crank the wings up 80 degrees and pull it around 180 degrees downwind because he is the best.
He always flies the final turns 8 degrees nose low, 50 degrees of bank, and pulling around the turn that produces a very light wing buffet at the precise final AOA.
He sat at a table thinking about his days as a fighter pilot.
"Gash, I missed this" he says. Lions Heart was smiling. He just did not want anything to bother him. He grinned and shook his head. Then he said; "God, I had a lot of fun flying.
He stood up and with a swagger, said the Marlborough Man is missing. He does not smoke any more.
“A pilot without a pack of cigarette inside his patch pocket?” He sighs.
JJ is now having too much fun while his detractors are having a cow.
Why the envy? Why the hate? Why is
he hated by the little Nazis?
Yeah, you little Nazi Jihadist buzz off my Brave Heart. Kobina Baido, you will soon blow up your gasket!

This piece I just read left me scratching my head. So now corruption is now the preserve of only NDC. The rest of Ghana is not corrupt. I remember a long time ago Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was asked about government officials corruption. This is what he said - paraphrase - It is very difficult for eradicate corruption. But the is a need to build a strong public opinion against it.
Mr. Baidoo please remember to write a balance story to get the respect of well meaning people. Let us stay away from pieces that is not nation building. We are all in one boat and democracy is sharing of ideas not creating villains.

Yes Rawlings Chickens, the NDC, have finally come home to roost. Put another way, what you sow is just what you reap. Had Rawlings sowed good seeds we'd have been reaping bountifully, heartily and joyfully, 35 years after he crash landed on the political scene. What we are reaping today, the unbridled corruption and kleptomania, the cronyism and nepotism, the incompetence, the class warfare, the war on certain tribes, breakdown of law and order, the politics of violence, thuggery and intimidation, the rigging of elections, the weakening of state institutions and the centralization of power are the seeds (of wrath, envy and greed) that were sown by Mr Jeremiah John Rawlings and his cohorts. After the sowing was complete he built a defensive wall, like the wall of China,(the Indemnity Clause of the 1992 4th Republican Constitution) around his farmland. It's now obvious Mr Rawlings was well aware, although unbeknown to most Ghanaians, of the kind of seeds he was sowing and knew there could be repercussions years later. He knew "you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all the time".
Again, the evil that men do lives after them. What we are witnessing today is the Rawlings Legacy to Ghanaians, both living and unborn. As he gets older, each day he's allowed to live would be a harrowing experience, a painful reminder of his crimes against an entire nation.
After sowing his seeds, the Law of the Harvest has once again proven itself to be truly an Eternal Law. Mr Rawlings and his family should be apologizing to Ghanaians not patronizing us and blaming others as if their hands are clean. They are lucky to be alive, walking free and breathing the air of freedom but they should also remember that"The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice"(MLK).

It is time the so called educated few roosters in over the seas stop blaming/complaining and return home to assist in their area of discipline(s). There is no better government in Ghana that meets their standard. Just SHUT up and go home or stop writing. We will listen but it does no help because you are not a tax payer to the Ghana government. The only argument of fools with shallow minds are sending foreign currency to Ghana - and to their family. Your best bet is organize and have all Ghanaians stop remitting their families. You have been complaining from Nkrumah's time (if you were born or had free education) to current administration, You are one of the many that shed more tears over God answering your prayers than unanswered ones. Just thank God you drink goat milk and eat the meat in London. Go home and help or shut up!

Corruption is the 'Curse' virus that is destined to destroy Ghana.
JB emerged soon after the second world war, when the world everywhere was re-discovering and re-shaping itself. JB pooled together all like-minded political elite of those days saw it was time for the then Gold Coast to free itself from 'the colonialists' who had come to 'milk' Ghana's cows to form the UGCC.
JB sent Mr Ako Adjei, who had mentioned Dr Kwame Nkrumah to him (JB) concerning his (Nkrumah's) anti-colonialist sentiments, to convince him (Nkrumah) to come home to join the UGCC they (progressive elite in the Gold Coast) had formed.
The then PhD student in London, Dr Kwame Nkrumah heeded and came home. The home-coming to Ghana in 1947 of Dr Kwame Nkrumah brought to Gold Coast (Ghana) the first 'political-curse' virus that took the form of 'corruption of political minds and ideas'.
Thus, Nkrumah's home-coming in 1947 introduced a new chapter of 'political corruption' that was to set for good the tone and direction of political thinking, pursuit and development in Gold Coast (Ghana). Since then corruption, whether it is political or financial, has run through the veins of all politicians and political groupings in our country.
IF WE WANT TO SAVE GHANA, THEN WE MUST DESTROY CORRUPTION IN ALL ITS FORMS.

Nkrumah the student introduced corruption to Ghana!!! Wow! This is very revealing. I know there people who when even caught red-handed in an act will deny doing the said act. I had no idea the numbers (deny, deny, deny people) that we have. It is easy to accuse others of your own wrong doings. Self-assessment is what is called for here. If you tell one untruth, you’d need ten more to cover it up. I strongly believe that being negative and complaining nonstop is nature of things in today’s world. Can you write a comment about an article without getting insulted and called names based on you origin? What's up with name calling and denigration. Democracy and progress come only with exchange of ideas. Can we all get along; with respect even if we disagree on what to do. Responsible people always check their emotions at the door. Red rage does not take any-one very far with respect to progress. And it is progress we are all looking for. Let's start here and now, my people. Thank you all

Did I say that "Nkrumah the student introduced corruption to Ghana, Kojo?????
Nkrumah came and joined the UGCC. Nkrumah had "vision" and "direction" that differed from those of JB and his associates.
Sand and water never mix. Put the two together and sand settles at the bottom while water stands at the top. The 'marriage' of Nkrumah and the UGCC founding members was a marriage destined to run into trouble and separation (if not divorce).
The separation led to attacks and counter-attacks traded in between Nkrumah and JB grouping. The two groups began to trade insults and accusations, turning 'progressive political thinking' in Ghana into a 'muddy mess'.
THIS IS WHAT I MEANT BY "POLITICAL CORRUPTION" that followed the coming of Nkrumah to Ghana to join a group that differed in every way from him.
Nkrumah DID NOT bring the "curse virus". The virus was born out of the coming together two incompatibles that generated antagonistic consequences that formed the basis of everything that is wrong with politics in Ghana.
Kojo, this what I was alluding in my first comment.

How about Nyaneba Estates in Accra? Was Ghana House in Cairo originally meant for the government and people of Ghana?
Why did James Quartey (alias Okutwer Bekoe and FY Asare) go to jail, only to be freed by Acheampong?
Interestingly, all the really incompetent and corrupt leaders Ghana has had (with the exception of Limann for corruption) began the political lives as Nkrumahists - Acheampong, Atta Mess, Jerry Boom and Akomfem Mahama!
