The inability for Ghanaians to learn and gain exposure and experience is killing all Ghanaians. What does this writer wants to achieve by writing this rubbish to defend thieves like Afriyie-Ankrah and his thief-in-command JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA?
Does Ghana belong to Afriyie-Ankrah and his NDC dimwits? What is wrong with summoning this incompetent and unqualified Afriyie-Ankrah to account for his incompetence, sheer mismanagement and dubious and corrupt deals?
The writer wrote "He told the Commission that as the minister at the time, he accepts responsibility but cannot accept blame for others’ inability to deliver specific jobs assigned them". For Accountability to prevail, you just don't only accept responsibility, you must be held accountable to the people you failed to supervise to achieve the organisation's goals and vision (if Afriyie-Ankrah had any besides amassing wealth).
This writer was concerned with only the $9m amount, what about the back-hand deals, the fraudulent deals behind the scenes which all culminated in the poor performance of the Black stars. People like this write are really dimwits and myopic. They think they know much, but inexperience and folly is exhibited by them in all their rantings.

Albert, these people are called football hooligans. They dont know any better because they cant think and I wouldnt worry too much about them if I were you. They are like headless chicken whose effusions will die out sooner than later. They have very low IQ which prevents them from discerning what is right from wrong.
In Europe, similar people cause riots, damage public property and attack Black people and Asians on sight when their teams lose matches. They viciously act on crowd instinct and are as docile as butterflies when they are alone.
The truth of the matter is that our own brand of football hooligans are mostly venting out their unmanageable frustrations about the inability of the Black Stars to make it to the final rounds of the World Cup. And like children who do not know how to manage their moods, they go amok and start pointing fingers at the next most visible person in sight. This unfortunately happens to be the former Minister, Afriyie Ankrah, Nyantakyi and Kwesi Appiah, the coach.
Some of these recalcitrant miscreants, particularly the journalists, are also being paid by other shadowy characters who want to undermine the entire MOY&S and GFA structure so that they can also find a way to get a shot at having the opportunity to ensconce themselves in the GFA to steal public funds.
Of course in the organization and participation of huge events such the World Cup, it is inevitable that there will be shortcomings here and there as well as financial leakage of funds, due more to disorganization than an intent to steal or mismanage funds.
Much as I dont like the style of Afriyie-Ankrah and his govt, I do not really think that there was anything near massive fraud concerning our participation in the 2014 World Cup. Considering the administrative shortfalls of past participation in such events, I think that the Brazil 2014 has been relatively smooth and commendable.
The only problem that I still have about that tournament is the inability of both the Minister of Sports and the leadership of the GFA to really discipline those evil footballers who caused an upheaval in the team and subsequently our downfall in the tournament. They should have grabbed both Sulley Muntari and Prince Boateng when they were misbehaving, bared their bottoms and caned them well, well. Perhaps after that, they would have regained their senses. What they needed was physical therapy to extract the demons in them

The legislature(Parliament) wanted a committee to investigate Afriyie Ankrah but the President because he is involved in this corrupt Brazil fiasco opted for a commission.
With a commission, whatever information gathered by them cannot be used to prosecute anybody including Afiriyie Ankrah so this exercise is just to flummox Ghanaians like Mahama is fighting corruption but he is not.
If it was a committee, the information gathered could have been used to prosecute all found to have misused Ghana's money.

This prejudiced mindset of yours is exactly what The Catalyst is talking about. You wait, I believe the paper will come back with more sensible articles for the likes of you to be exposed. Why are you running away from the facts and hanging onto tangential issues? If there is conflict between two figures, the Commission will state the right position at the end of the day. You are not qualified to tell Ghanaian. You people did the same thing when you lied that the supporters were sleeping on the streets of Brazil, starving and lining up in queue to go to toilet. Mr Journalist, why waste our time to chastise the English Teacher? You are still writing "...... money giving to him ....." and a couple of sentences later ".... for given them the opportunity". A JSS student will fail his BCE if his does that at the WAEC exams! You failed to take on board the helpful comments Sarpong made, because you have taken a particular viewpoint about the whole Elvis affair and do not want to entertain any diversionary suggestions!
You yourself do not want to try to understand why Elvis spent the most part of the first half of 2014 in Brazil sorting out these problems, but still the supported failed to get to the venue of one of the only three matches for which Elvis had wasted so much of our already scarce resources to organize. Have you asked yourself why Elvis decided to waste more resources to shuttle between Brazil and Accra just for a media call which was all over in about 60 minutes or less? What was in the information he delivered on that day that he could not have got one of his deputies to divulge to the public? That alone would have earned him a visit to Teshie Shooting Range during Rawlings' good days!
Can you not see that this contour about the cedi equivalent in Dollars that had to be exchanged into Dollars, thus losing a whooping $500,000.00 of its value even before the plane left Accra, does not make any good sense? How much was lost in exchanging the whole amount to Brazilian currency and back again? Elvis failed to tell us whether the $4.4 million he claims to have returned to the ministry’s coffers were in cedi equivalent or not, and how much more would be lost in reverse conversion and bank charges! Whoever was involved in this convolution would also have had a trip to Teshie in those good old days! Just before the world cup began, Elvis presented his $20 million budget to the nation in Dollars and the government settled on half of that amount, also in Dollars. How come Elvis is now talking about cedi equivalent? I remember the government promising $9 million (or was it $10); how come it turned out to be #9.4 million cedi equivalent? I bet if all had gone well with the team, the point four million Dollars would have found its way into loose change? All these indicate the corruption for which Elvis and co have to face the law and fury of the land!
There are more worrying issues about this whole Brazil 2014 failure that cannot be overlooked, but you have taken a stance which seems to suggest that you are of the opinion that: "Honourable does no wrong!" You are supposed to be a journalist; so detach yourself from issues before you sit down to comment. Unless you were with Elvis throughout the first half of 2014, you cannot hold brief for him on any issue, because the way things are going, the matter will not end with the commission! In this day and age when all we are occupied by are the wanton waste of the country’s resources in judgement debts, how can a minister indulge in a multi-million project without any written document? Come on, you are a journalist, and I suppose you have a code of conduct to live by! Do not be a partisan reporter/commentator on corruption issues.

Secondly, this is another warped logic of another prejudiced mind. Has the Commission finished its forensic audit for nobody to conclude that actually, $10,000,000.00 was what was given to Elvis, or transferred into the MoYs account?
Secondly, all your conclusions are so cheap that one wonders what kind of 'objective' analyst will write this kind of thing.
