Nana Addo became general secretary to that newly formed party aside PFP. Eventually when there was a run off in the 79 general election, Nana Addo and his uncle went in alliance with Hilla Liman's party. He won anyway leaving Busia-Dankwa-Dombo to stay in opposition for 21 years.
