All government appointees should rent their own house. No more free fuel, houses, allowances of any kind, ex-gratia etc. If the government cannot subsidize fuel for the poor, it should withdraw all allowances etc for government appointees.
We are sick and tired of the well to do riding on the back of the poor. Does it make sense to tax "kayayes" and use that money to house a minister for free? If Ghana is rich, all and sundry should benefit from it.
The author should question the rational behind government giving of kind of freebies to government appointees.

At times I stop to ask where our economists studied from or have they been reading economic books which are different from that of their counterparts elsewhere. Have our economist been reading economic books from Mars because no production goes on there.
