Essamuah, we have a big problem on our hands if you are the "scholar" but prefers to hide it from our readership! Dissembling that fact won't help you either. I mean how can a blind man lead another blind man, the "scholar" versus Ekow Essamuah?
Let me ask again: Are you the "scholar"? Is the "scholar" a perfect mirror image? Does the "scholar" ring a bell?
Go see the "sholar" for help if you are the "scholar"! You sound like him or her!
Enjor the piece and expect more to come. And have a nice day! I enjoy your imput. But take my advice and go see the "scholar," Ekow Essamuah!

Dear Kweku Donsuro,
That is fine by me if you want to go by that interpretation. Others may want to assign different interpretations to some of the literary devices and characters I deploy.
Ekow Essamuah, for instance, implies this and the first part are separately unconnected internally. I don't know how he reached this ill-informed conclusion. It is, however, apparent he has not closely studied "quantum fiction," a literary genre of the Afro-Guyanese poet and writer (Theodore) Wilson Harris, say, arguably one of the world's greatest novelists alive today.
Anyway, others associated with the genre include Lawrence Durrell (Susan Young successfully did a dissertation on the "quantum fixtion" of Durrell's novels published in the late 1950s), etc.
On the other hand, Fred D'Aguiar and Rebekka Edlund (she also did a dissertation on some of the novels of Wilson Harris) have done some useful scholarly works on Harris' novelistic corpus, complex works with textural depth. You should read more about "quantum fiction."
Another essential point on how this little piece may be read. For instance, Ekow Essamuah's reference to "genius" is not the same as the "genius" I employ in association with the "scholar," though I did not make that explicit if the reader chooses to make sense out of it in sentential isolation.
In other words, the word "genius" as used in this particular essay in connection with the "scholar" has a sarcastic connotation. It simply points to "stupidity" within the circumferential subtexts of both essays, this and the first one, I mean. But a reader who cursorily walks via the textual thicket of the two essays may not readily see this.
Again, I did not have anyone particular in mind when I decided to do this. This is a general statement of fact.
My advice to you is to try to see these pieces, all two of them, as loosely akin to allegorical poems. It takes patience and a little intellectual investment in the theoretical techniques of "quantum technique" to put them together coherently. This statment is for Ekow Essamuah who essentially sees both essays as separately unconnected internally.
That said, the character "scholar" is entirely a creative invention. You should agreee with me that I have every right to invent my characters and you have the right to do the same! You have every right to replace the "scholar" with any human character of your choice as long as it fits your holistic understanding of the essays.
And you see, finally, Kweku Donsuro, both essays should tell you something special about the caliber of thinkers, poets, and writers I enjoy reading and discussing with friends, thinkers I have great respect for!
Certainly the "scholar" is theoretically not one of them. Again, this is merely an academic, not empirical, claim. Of course I am nobody, a mere reader, a common man!
Thanks.

We can't wait until someone produces a dissertation on these texts to unravel the rich meanings lying hidden underneath. Sometimes it feels like reading Ulysses or Finnegans Wake. Even Soyinka's prose work (novels) appear more manageable than your heavy text.
Many of us do not have the pre-knowledge needed to understand and enjoy your heavily laden texts. Please give us some fingerpoints to help us get along...

Dear Kibaki,
Thanks for your constructive comments. Anyway I love James Joyce which I also hope you do.
Moreover, both of the creative works you mention by him, James Joyce's, are incredibly complex! And Soyinka's "Season of Anomy" and "The Intepreters," his two notable novels, are masterpieces in and of themselves, though of a much less textural complexity and philosophical denseness, as you rightly pointed out.
On the other hand, I have taken note of your concerns under advisement. I shall do something about it. Besides, I merely mentioned the dissertations on Wilson Harris' "quantum fiction" as an extratextual extension of discourse on literary theory, not for the general readership per se but for Ekow Essamuah in particular.
Kibaki, I do hope you will agree with me that giving away the philosophical subtext of every given piece of text may potentially display an unintended tendency toward undermining its charactorological luster. The element of surprise is important to the internal structure of "good" writing.
Granted, sometimes I want my staunch readers to do a little bit more plumbing of my texts. I have done the same with Soyinka's essays, to mention but one scholar. What is more, the nature of textural plumbing is part of the creative relational fun I believe we, my readers and I, enjoy on this platform!
Please continue to read and to share your wisdom with me.
Thanks.

Dear Essamuah,
That is the point, critical thinking. Anyway that is part of the structure of these two pieces.
I believe you need some appreciation of critical thinking to plumb these texts. I don't mean this as an insult, however. But I am sorry to say you have not demonstrated a chylomicron of critical thinking in your approach to these texts.
It is clear you cannot make heads or tails of these two texts. It arguably also explains why you are chasing after your stunted yet heavily bruised tail, running endlessly inescapably, rather pathetically,in concentric circles of arrant confusion.
The subtext of these two pieces is intertwined with the creative instruments of critical thinking. Unfortunately, critical thinking is what you so hopelessly and helplessly need in order to unravel their textural laminae. Go back to Kibaki and pick up some wisdom.
And you think I am proving anything? To whom? To you? Who are you? Please stop being infatuated with yourself. You think Kibaki and Nana Kwame and the several others who read my articles think I have something to prove to them? What have I (and others for that matter) done here on this platform that has never been done elsewhere?
What have Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Winston Churchill (a fabulous writer), Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Jane Austen, Emile Bronte, James Joyce, Carole Joyce Oates, Shakespeare, Albert Einstein, etc., done that has never been done before in human history? In fact there is nothing original about any of the thinkers I have mentioned above.
That reminds, do you by chance inseverably identify with the "scholar"? It seems you don't like the "scholar" character.
There is certainly something leprotic, something untoward, about this "scholar," a fictional character, that is rapaciously gnawing at your restless conscience.
What is it? Is the "scholar" an identical twin or your seeming self? Besides, the "scholar" is merely a creative invention!
In addition, others and I are having great fun while you are continually nagging about irrelevancies, talking about and dabbling in extraneous matters conspicuously unrelated to these texts.
Finally, you will never grasp the nebolous philosophical soul of these two write-ups if you lack critical reading and critical thinking skills. This statement is particularly for you. Again, I don't mean this remark as an insult (I cherish my readers), for I continue to learn the more I write and the more I read the works of the greatest thinkers.
Anyway send me an email (franciskkwarteng@yahho.com) and let's discuss topics related to my writings, peer-reviewd journals, etc. It will certainly be an eye opener for you!
Bye.

Here you go too. Are you the "scholar"? Do you wish to be the "scholar"? Is the "scholar" an identical twin or family member? Why are you so offended by this essay? I just don't get it! I have repeatedly said to you the "scholar" is a creative invention. It seems you are implicitly telling me you want to take on that role!
You call this a book review? Which book did I review? What is "book"? And what is "review"? Since you apparently have no idea what "review" is, how then can you understand this piece? I wonder! How many books did I mention in this essay? It is sad how we cannot read!
I strongly believe our tattered educational system has something to do with it. Most of us lack critical reading and critical thinking skills. This is unfortunate.
And all we do is to use one moniker after the other to criticize little things we cannot understand.
Tell me about the book which I reviewed in this essay! And it is "discombobulated" because you lack the instruments of critical reading and critical thinking skills and literary theory to understand it. You keep changing monikers but I will continue to tell you the same things.
Go study "quantum genre" and literary theory and come back. I may also help you with additional information if you have any difficulties understanding genres like "quantum fiction." I know you will have problems with "quantum fiction" if you cannot understand simple essays such as these.
No wonder you see it as "nothingness." Nothingness because you lack the necessary skills to plumb it. Let us introduce critical thinking and critical reading skills into our educational system. The average "literate" American student may not have difficulties with this piece.
