Quote from my article where I said Fiifi Kwetey used the word booming. Fiifi Kwetey said:
"The depriciation of the Ghana cedi is a blessing in disguise"
Tell readers where the blessing is in the depreciation of the cedi. If the depreciation of the cedi is a blessing, then ask your atrophied brains why the Mahama administration which Kwetey is part trying to stop it.
If the depreciation of the cedi is good, then let the government make it its policy by devaluing the cedi to the dollar like 5 cedis to one dollar.
Yes, he Tamakloe deserve insults when he twists my words to fit into his narrow bigotry jibber jabbering foolishness. He Tamakloe has not come up with anything new that we all didn't know before. We all know we need to export more than import but what this Tamakloe and Fiifi Kwetey don't know is that, in a short term, a country that exports raw materials like Ghana cannot take advantage of a depreciated currency as Kwetey is calling it a blessing. Tamakloe, Kwetey and his bunch of clueless Economists should go and read price and commodities elasticities before they can understand the issues here. As at now, it is a waste of anybody's time trying to explain this topic of economics to them.
What this bigot don't know is that Lake Bosomtwe area is being developed with modern hotels and recreational centers. He should help clean the coastal areas around Keta and other areas in Volta region where the beach areas have become toilet facilities. Even Ho stadium has become a big toilet facility so instead of worrying about Lake Bosomtwe, he should worry about Volta region that has only 50 percent toilet facilities for its inhabitants whilst the rest use the beaches and bush. At least Ashanti region has the highest percentage of people having toilet facilities at 85 percent in Ghana.

Tamakloe should understand that there is no way depreciation of the cedi could be an advanatage to Ghana at least for the next 20 years. So even in the near future Fiifi Quartey pseudo economic theorem will not work. There can never be any economic advanatage to Ghana with the depreciation of the cedi period. The reason is that Ghana's economy from Guggisburg to John Mahama has been import driven. There is little export. We do not export the kind of volumes that will generate us enough foreign exchange to offset the impact of the depreciation of the currency. In an import driven economy, depreciation is always bad. Depreciation is only Good for the export driven economies such as Japan and the Asian tigers. In the same way depreciation of the currency is never good for an economy like the united states which is driven by local consumption. Anyway we are still waiting for Fiifi to write the counter thesis to Bawumia's submission so many months after he had been challenged to do so. Tamakloe please go back to school and learn Econs. 101 to help you understand some of these basic economic phenomenon.

Cedi fall affecting businesses — GCCI President
Friday, 18 July 2014
The President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr Seth Adjei Baah, has stated that businesses in Ghana are recording losses due to the depreciation of the cedi.
He said the cedi was reported to have depreciated by almost 30 per cent against the major foreign trading currencies since January this year and stated that the situation had negatively affected the growth of businesses in Ghana.

ILLITERATE IDIOT, GET OFF YOUR ILLITERACY AND TROKOSI HERD MENTALITY AND FACE FACTS. Where did I say anything about this as a success? If you don't understand the issues here, don't get all upset because you are all over the place crapping idiocy. It doesn't even seem to me you understand the concept of cash flow.
" So the more we sell the better for us . Even if your revenue was $2 that fetched you GhC 2 before but now you get GhC4 will that not improve the cash flow situation , if not profitability ."
Are you saying because the cedi has depreciated so instead of making GhC2 now you are making GhC4 it is better? Can the four cedis you are making have the same purchasing power as the two cedis you were making a year ago, that is what you have to look at not the amount of the money.
Let me educate you about the value of money as it seems to me you have no idea of a depreciated currency and time essence of money.
If a year ago the two cedis profit you were making could buy you a a 16 ounce of a tin of milo but because the cedi has depreciated so much now you need five cedis to buy the same size of milo, are you better off making two cedis a year ago when that two cedis could buy a tin of milo or you are better of today making four cedis but your four cedis cannot buy you the same milo because now the price is five cedis because of the depreciated cedi, that is what I am talking about the time essence of money.
You are a damn illiterate in the subject Economics and you need tutorials.
Don't waste people time with your stupidity, ok?

This is ridiculous! When in such a situation, just like when in a situation of devaluation, only nations that can take advantage and increase exports are the industrialized states. Predominantly agrarian societies are not able to do so. it takes close to 5 years to increase cocoa production, so how do farmers increase production to take advantage? This is a minister of state in 21st century Ghana? Huh!!!

Fundamentals should be real policies underpinning the growth of GDP not the GDP itself.
Now first lesson for the Kobolos; When they embark on monetization to redenominate the cedi, did the NPP consider 'FUNDAMENTALS' to sustain the cedi? What didn't they do to worsen the BOP - exporting cheap poor rice from INDIA AND CHINA left, right center and forward by their business shoeshineboys and girs cum their Dog chain sellers was the order of the day so if now the cedi has detiorirated, it is these Kobolos 'cause arm'.

Prosperity breeds forgetfulness indeed! Did we ever have BA Mensah, Dr Safo-Adu, Appiah-Menka, Siaw, Kowus and other giants of industry in Ghana? I wonder. And what really happened to them?
There seems to be a kind of inferiority complex that afflicts certain sections of our Ghanaian society. Those who are afflicted by this complex simply spew out plain shame-faced distortions without crediting their audience/readers with any level of intelligence!
How many years has the Liberal Democratic end of our political spectrum ruled Ghana since independence? Objective observers agree that Kufuor's government grew Ghana's economy by more than 300% in eight years, a feat that had never been achieved before.
I wonder if any country around the world has ever allowed its currency to fall freely because there are advantages in that. Lord have mercy!

I think in all fairness Fiifi should keep his mouth shut and spare us the agony of his intellectual dishonesty or crass ignorance. Depreciation of a currency only favors an economy which is export driven. Examples of export driven economies are the Asian tigers, china, Japan etc. Depreciation of the currency is never good for economies that rely on imports(such as Ghana)or those who rely on internally generated demand to boost their economy such as the USA. let the truth be told the depreciation of the currency will not help Ghana a bit as we have virtually nothing to export.(I mean export in quantities that can override the effects of the depreciated currencies.) So Fiifi if you do not understand these concepts please don't throw them around. If you cannot spell it don't write it simple.

Mr Tamakloe, it doesn't seem to me you understand the concept of cash flow. How can making four cedis now instead of two cedis six months ago be a better cash flow if the four cedis you making now cannot buy the same thing two cedis was able to get you six months ago? The four cedis cash flow is then not better than the two cedis cash flow six months ago because the purchasing power is better with the two cedis than the four cedis. Cash flow explained below;
A cash flow analysis is a method of checking up on your firm’s financial health. It is the study of the movement of cash through your business, called a cash budget, to determine patterns of how you take in and pay out money. The goal is to maintain sufficient cash for firm operations from month to month. This type of cash flow analysis is called developing the cash budget.
