Low self esteem is the cause of all these failures. If you believe in yourself, there wouldn't be any reason to want to become a president. These so called aspirants and Mahama share the opinion that massive wealth is a measure of success. Great leaders do not use these plastic and artificial criteria to measure their internal wealth but rather what they are able to contribute to human life and that is what we don't have in Ghana at the moment. To establish, what did Dr. Nkrumah have when he was deposed? Nothing but yet his accomplishments are matchless. Everyone after him is pretender wrapped in self interest of immeasurable proportions. They fail before they even get the position they aspire to. Mahama is a failure before he ends his term and that Allan has failed before any consideration of his abilities, other than to be seen as a president but the question remains if they are capable of leading their people to prosperity without sacrificing the poor image of themselves that drives them. Let us BE BOLD to challenge these wannabees. Ghana.

Your article specifically centres on "inability of a leader to figure out a problem to come out with solutions."
You wrote a lot of some leaders talking about their facial beauty, heights and so on, which am not here to defend neither to dispute it. However one important tool for these leaders which everyone uses to come to power is a manifesto. I think you have no idea or you forgot to centre on, is their political manifestos which potently detail the problems being diagnosed and how to deal with them. Accordingly, if you publish such an article by telling Ghanaians that our leaders can't pinpoint our problems with corresponding solutions to come to power, you are insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians. It means we vote for them without knowing what they can do for us in the first place. I urge you to grab manifestos of these politicians where they detail what they have seen about the economy and what they can do. For example, the introduction of sanitary pads in schools to help girls was in president Mahama's manifesto, removing schools under trees was also in president Mahama's manifesto and many more. I also recommend to you to listen to the presidential debates which are being organised during every electioneering campaign whereby each prospective president clearly voices what they can do. President mahama was able to win the 2012 election because of his excellent performance in some of these debates.
As a matter of fact, I don't know where you heard Alan Kyeremanteng or any yet-to-be leader talking about their heights, size or face instead of problems in the country for you to bring this article from your rat-hole for public consumption. Perhaps you heard these from their respective supporters but not themselves. I can't remember president Mahama saying in 2012 that he was handsome than any of the presidential candidates.
The fact of the matter is to get a copy of manifesto of each prospective leader either Alan Kyeremanteng, Mahama, Akufo Addo or Nduom and sit to diagnose what each person can do instead of listening to just mere supporters to write this article. Most of things President mahama is doing and yet to do are found in the NDC manifesto. Alan Kyeremateng has a manifesto, Akufo Addo also has a manifesto in which they will read to the delegates to woo their votes. These manifestos clearly spell out what they want to do for the country but not their personal appearance beauty.

You talk of manifestos. Don't you have to create wealth before spending? Yes I have read all the manifestos and they are just theoretical offerings - I will create jobs without specifying how; I will build 200 SHS without creating the wealth with which to build; I will grow the economy without specifying how. These are just mere wishlists just as the Senchi Consensus.
No Sir I am not belittling the Ghanaian electorate. The broad majority is information poor; hence they cannot be blamed.
By the way I never said anything about Kyeremanteng boasting about height or physique. I only took him on on his assertion that when it comes to winning power, everything else is secondary. My argument is that knowing what to do with the power is more important and that is what they should be talking about.
Also following your manifesto does not necessarily mean that problems are solved. If a government is providing all the public goods they are so keen on and yet people are complaining, it should tell them something - they made the wrong diagnisis of the problems and they are accordingly providing the wrong solutions.

Creating wealth! Creating wealth before spending, what are you insinuating here? The best ever wealth to be created in a country is human capital/education, irrespective of where the money comes from for its initiation. Every country is creating wealth within their human resources who will futuristically become useful to the nation by using their skills and knowledge to build the nation. A country is developed based on the capacity of education given to the citizens. Accordingly, am not surprised to hear president Mahama introducing sanitary pads, giving scholarships and building more schools. This is the best way wealth is being created. The government is investing in the people. Look at the UK, firstly they created wealth within their people who are now intelligent enough to create their own jobs instead of relying on the government, and also make sound decisions for the kingdom despite scarcity of natural resources.
Yes, President Mahama has done and is doing a lot of things for the people (e.g implementation of SSSS) but still people are crying, this brings one law in Economics that "people's wants are unlimited". Everywhere in the world people are not satisfied with what they have obtained either from the government or by themselves. In the US citizens cry, in the Uk people cry, in Canada citizens cry too. The only difference between our cry as Ghanaians and other citizens is that ours is louder which is our personally natural behaviour whereby we exaggerate anything, thanks to proliferation of mass and social media.

Sure education is important but when you borrow , you need to think of how to pay back . Nkrumah borrowed to start factories. These were productive unts that would have repaid the loans

Who told you that our would be Leaders don't have manifestos? They have all the qualities to lead a nation. The only problem most of them have is how to say no to corruption, greed, injustice and tribalism when they win power. .When they get themselves deeply involved in any of these evil practices, they are distanced from GOD who gives wisdom to rule a nation. This is what we are facing under Mahama's government.

You talk of getting the facts of a country from the IMF, Rating Agencies etc. That's interesting because you believe those agencies have all the facts on the ground in every country.
The sooner people change thier mind set the better for Ghana. Instead of blaming the leader, people should deal with corruption, laziness and "pull him down politics" in their communities, offices etc so the country can move forward.

So far the 'facts' brought up by those agencies have turned out to be true. We send ministers to Washington to meet with them, and they have country offices in Ghana. Why do we do these if they are not important?

Everybody can campaign in a free society to become a leader or president. The presidential aspirant can win based on effective strategic campaign. It is up to the people especially the journalists and politicians to drill the aspirants on challenges facing the country and how best the aspirants are prepared to govern.By the way,you cannot create wealth out of vaccum, you need strategic investment and orientations. That is why Npp must organise a platform for the 7 aspirants to engage in intellectual debate.I think a good leader should not depend on party's manifesto but have his own pragmatic policies.Thank you.

For the following reasons, no President will succeed:
1. We have mortgaged all our resources to others and when they sell, they keep the money outside the country.
2. Tax and Rate collectors collude with payers to cheat the state of more than 60% of revenue.
3. The national kitty is leaking like a sieve through dubious and inflated procurement contracts, payrolls and plain thievery.
4. 90% of workers have mortgaged 80% their salaries to Banks and other financial houses for the next 5 years leaving only, about 20% cash in their hands to spend: what can they buy, no wonder traders are crying of low sales. What it means is that the huge increase in the govt payroll is retained at the banks through loan repayments!
5. Any President or govt which is able to find answers to these problems mentioned will succeed, otherwise we shall be at each others throat politically forever.
