On governance are surfacing from all obscure corners to advocate a change in the 'rules of the game' that have been used all along! The truth of the matter is the fact that far too many of our politicians can accept and live with defeat at the polls! And then there is also the fact too many of our politicians want to play the role of "Chiefs", but not the role of "Indians". What do we see happening among the ranks of the opposition parties? Can anybody convince me that any of these greedy politicians are ready to work with and co-operate with people from the same political family?
Until we change our thinking about governance as service to our people, rather than a quick way to amass wealth, then the stagnation we are all bemoaning will continue. What are we seeing at all are state institutions - Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,Legon,Ghana Gas company,VRA,GFA,MDAs,etc will continue because our officials are, by and large, selfish and corrupt!

an all inclusive government means a proportion of ministerial and other top government positions to every political party that wins a seat in parliament.a governing authority with different political ideology, and manifesto. How will portfolios be distributed. I don't really care about what form of governance we practice, be it democracy dictatorship or socialism. As a human being, the important thing i want for a people of a sovereign nation, is basic necessities of life, jobs and some extent of freedoms which of course is a necessary ingredient for national development. As long as Ghanaians have accepted democracy as means of governing the Country, that is fine. The problem we have is not system of governance.No!. The problem is the constitution. Those who drafted the constitution completed it and enacted it by themselves,to serve their own interest. I have a different understanding about the winner takes all issue, and it is not about wining political party not considering opposition parties for appointments. the issue is about the President making a larger percentage appointments from his tribe or his area and completely ignoring region or district that are considered alien to the president's party. Beyond that, I don't see how a constitutional clause should be entrenched for power sharing or otherwise for political parties with different ideologies. What we need in the constitution, are workable system that will check corruption and all other issues that have contributed to our underdevelopment and abuses of political power.Secondly, It is must that a National development plan is enshrined into the Constitution which all wining Political leaderships shall follow through instead of administering the Country with Political party manifestos. It has never helped us and it will never help us. Kwame Nkrumah transformed Ghana in a short spate of time under a seven year development plan.. That is what we have to do and to crown it all, be tough on economic criminals with total confiscation of assets and life imprisonments.
