When the Players reached Netherlands and tried to use their cards to access these funds, the cards were rejected either with no money in it or not a recognised card. The Players were treated like blokes and disrespected with many lies.

I think you missed the whole point of why things happened they did. Simply, the leaders of the FA lack the requisite skills and knowledge needed to successfully undertake and execute the assignment they were given. And also there was no trust between the playing and the FA leadership. Without trust I don't think you can execute a simple economic principle of demand and supply. I wish the issue of trust is fixed between leaders and the led. This might go a long way to avoid a repeat not only within the Black Stars but the entire African continent . Leaders should know that the people they are supposed to be leading are not fools, they can think.

Mr. Opoku,
As one respondent already mentioned, you missed the point. Even though rightly deserved, this response is not a criticism of your article. It is simply to encourage exploration of other possible causes, and hopefully, engender deeper reflection.
Money was perhaps the catalyst that precipitated the implosion, but certainly not the root cause. Many major contributing factors can be laid at the foot of the GFA, from poor organization to plain crude corruption.
Until we ask the right questions and deal with the root causes of the problems, nothing will get better. We will repeat the same mistakes and expect different results. In this life, we reap what we sow, and if we want good harvest, perhaps we should give great thought to sowing good seeds.

The Schalke midfielder has slammed the country's FA for the chaotic organisation of their campaign in Brazil and admits he will find it hard to return to international duty again
Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has hit out at the organiation of the Black Stars' World Cup campaign, claiming the entire process was "a catastrophe".
While Ghana enjoyed some memorable moments during the competition, including a 2-2 draw against Germany and a record-breaking goal from Asamoah Gyan, the Black Stars' time in Brazil was shrouded in controversy.
Players threatened to boycott the remainder of the competition over a dispute concerning bonus payments, while Boateng and Sulley Munari were both sent home over a breach of discipline.
The former AC Milan man has now spoken frankly of his experience throughout the World Cup process and claims the level of treatment the squad received from the Ghanaian footballing officials was 'insulting' at times.
"I am very, very disappointed," said Boateng, speaking to SportBild. "It simply was no good time. It was a nightmare from the first day of preparation until the end.
"I never thought that you could organise a World Cup preparation and a World Cup that badly: hotels, flights - everything in an amateurish way.
"Our flight from Miami to Brazil took 12 hours. We were in Economy Class, packed. The legs hurt. For a pro, that's an insult. Meanwhile, our president sat in Business Class with his wife and his two kids. In Brazil the people responsible managed to lose my luggage. I did not have my football boots for days, no tapes, nothing. It was a disaster.
"Prior to the match against the US we slept in a sleazy hotel. This one can never have been recommended by Fifa. The rooms were wet. I had to change my room because it was like a swimming pool. There was water dripping from the ceiling."
Ahead of the Black Stars’ final group game against Portugal, the squad threatened to boycott the match in protest at unpaid bonuses before Boateng was later sent home, and the Schalke man believes he was made a scapegoat for his honesty with Ghana's footballing officials.
"There were two or three players who were happy that me and Sulley Muntari were suspended," said Boateng. "I made my point. There wasn't a single player who was happy. I have the feeling that we met a hundred times with our whole delegation. We told them that there are many things that have to change.
"I am an easy victim for them because I told them face-to-face that they are liars who do not keep their promises.
"The president promised that we would travel better, get better accommodation in the future. A better organisation and preparation. He didn't keep his promise. At the end, I was simply dissatisfied.
"[The bonuses were] part of it, pretty normal. That was one of the smallest problems. It all just came together during one month. It was a catastrophe.
"I just ask myself where all the money is going. The FA gets lots of money from sponsors, from Fifa. They certainly do not spend it for hotels, flights, the team and its preparation."
Boateng did not close the door on a future international career with the Black Stars, but did acknowledge that it would be difficult to return to the fold.
"They kicked me out. I love the country and the people but it is hard for any sportsman to continue under these circumstances."

We are just short-sighted.
We only think of the immediate but not what will come in future. These players have tarnished their image. They would be earning more if they had gone to the next stage. Bigger clubs would have chased them so they could earn more than what they were asking for. They have forgotten that they have a brand to improve. No wonder, if you bring disloyal and uncommtted players like Essien and Prince Boateng to play for you then you should expect that.

Ghana qualifies for the World Cup six month before the start of the World Cup. Why during this six month the GFA and Government of Ghana do not pay the players their money. You talking about paying the players cash. How many people in Ghana or business men or Government officials pay people in the bank. What I want we Ghanians should understand is , this is not the first time Ghana have taken Sulley Mutari to a World Cup. This is the third time, so he know the GFA officials and he know what he was fighting for. I want Ghanaians to remember about the players for 1978 Black Stars players when they was promise by the seat of government that if the won the Nations cup each player will be given a house, did their give them house. He'll No. Ghana lost his first game against USA and Drew with Germany and lost again to Portugal. Do you think with this result the team had in the tournament if the players did ask for the money to pay cash to them if not their will not play the match against portugal it should have the end. After the tournament no one will I even paid any attention to them

We all work for money to pay our bails and support our family. These ministers are criminals that should rest in jail for long time and should never allow to hold any public office . They try to put the blame on players. these money should have been paid to the player in Ghana before they left home. There was so much stress on the players that they do not need more destruction from those ministers. We should have given them better hotels and comfortable living for the games. Let's do things right for better results . if Germany goes to the finals or even quarter final then Ghana black stars could have gone to finals. Black stars played better than Germany . The problems was there before USA games so let stop to question the minister for what they doing with the players money. There was no problem with our players except paying them. You guys do not want to work without pay.

I disagree that the players just wanted money that's why they burned and crashed. Yes money became the center issue because of mistrust of the FA and their corrupt tactics. These players must be paid and with the Black Stars qualifying about 6 months before the WC, they should never have to ask for their pay not even once. If the GFA truly honor the players service, they players fees should have already been allotted and paid at least a few days before the start of the tournament so that the focus can be on soccer. Strategies like going to public to announce wrongful negotiations about what the players have agreed to and then later sending someone to go and negotiate an agreement is deplorable. You take the players' for granted and disrespect them! You reap what you sow! Why is the GFA surprised that the players are disrespecting them? With all the valuable time after the Black Stars qualified you mean to tell me preparations to negotiate and pay them was not settled to until after 2 games into the world cup. Undisciplined management! GFA you've sowed undisciplined management that's why you've reaped undisciplined players. Discipline your corrupt selves before you discipline the players.

Has a coach I believe he has improved and haven't watched the USA match and the match against Germany I now understand why Kevin was kept on the bench. Kevin was useless when Ghana played Germany and people have to know that he played for Ghana to get back at Germany. Lets has a country find ways to help our own and not pull them down. AA in my point has done well, and he deserves another chance. Ghanaians don't like to be disciplined but I see that in him. Personal don't care for the fact that KPB is gone, he was no good for Ghana anyways. God bless Ghana.
